really enjoyed the warm weather this weekend- played four separate disc golf random doubles events over two days. Results = lost, - 1st, - tied for 2nd (and won throw off) & tied for 1st (but lost throw off)
I have been slow about adding a picture of my new fav frisbee but i found this great blank green one and had my friend dye... Read More
I hear you. I really really wish I could just make my brain understand that It's just work, it doesn't matter. I was pretty much at that point at my ex-job, but then...
this month turned busy somehow with 4 wedding shoots, USDGC, halloween, party planning, and the usual casual throwing of the discs couple x / per week. after a semi- lazy summer it is an odd but ok change of pace
A/C went out in the house again yesterday. fortunately I had already called in to skip work today so calling a repair man is easier. Until then I can just turn on a fan and walk around w/ less clothes on. very glad for a cloudy day today. (makes the house cooler and shades my nakedity )
..in other news I got a call to... Read More
Just a busy running around kind of two weeks lately. I am squeezing some fun time in, but feel like I am losing track of things because I have so many little (mostly boring) projects going on. headlight on car, pick up logs from tree falling, helping to build the new course in Charlotte @ Eastway. Working too, but last two weeks I have spent... Read More
I second fun projects. Or long-term goals. Long-term goals keep me going when I'm running out of steam.
The past few years I kept thinking back to my favorite job of all time and wondering if I'd ever be happy, again. I completely understand missing the job love.
I am tired and sore from helping people move and playing disc golf 6 straight days... but i really like my new socks and i got a tripod chair and and a new back pack! 3 more parts for my new (ish) car and i will be done working on it and can get back into the 6-7 hrs of cleaning and polishing to expose... So ! It's been a busy weekend. I worked a side job Saturday helping brick layers build a garage foundation. It is dirty work, but I liked learning a little about the process. Then Sat night I had some yummy cake, and got drunk and almost separated my shoulder trying to play limbo while handcuffed behind the back. (it's ok though... not my frisbee arm... Read More
It's always good to learn tricks of the trade about different things. I mean, if the apocolyps comes we need to be ready. Plus, it helps with projects before then.
You remind me of a friend I once had. He was always working some job or other. He seemed to love work. I know he really didn't like it so much, but that's the way he was; he had that so-called strong, American work ethic. I, on the other hand, hate working.TheFox reminded me recently that I've never had a job that I enjoyed; that probably has a lot to do with why I hate work. If I could find something that I truly enjoy, then I'd probably turn into a workaholic.
Also, I agree with schiavona. It's good to learn skills for the apocalypse. There are a lot of skills I'd like to learn just because. I mean, I often think things like, "But what if something happens and I need to know how to drive a tractor trailer?!"
Today 7-22-2010 after playing Disc golf for almost ten years, I finally got my first ACE hole in one. Bailey Rd Park during random draw doubles tournament. My partner and I had made birdie 2's on the first 17 holes, and after he threw on the last hole I threw my brand new (just got yesterday ) Dynamic Discs BuZZZ, and it sailed through the... Read More
