BLOG HOMEWORK TIME! :) My favorite.
This week from @rambo and @missy is "What is your best advice"?
That is actually a tough question and I've actually thought long and hard about it. I even wondered if I was a person who could even give "good" advice....but alas...here it is! I won't torture you with long paragraphs of reading, but with simple sentences of straight to the point ideas.
Let me give you a little backround first (ok, maybe there will be ONE wall of text ;) ). I was picked on all through out my life, made fun of everyday in school...and honestly it was because I was a nerd. I liked draw, loved comics, star wars...I wasn't the girly cheerleader. I was thrown into lockers, had my hair pulled, had shit (yes, literally SHIT) thrown at me while in the bathroom...it was pretty horrible. I dreaded going to school everyday. I was even made fun of because I wasn't "tan" , had freckles and red hair. I never wore make up, didn't dress like other kids....I literally was a loner...I had no friends (Actually still really don't). Life sucked...and didn't get much better until 3 years ago when I was diagnosed with MS and it seemed my life was over...however....it has made me become more alive. I have learned to forgive all those people who were mean to me and accept myself for who I am...because I am me. I am a nerd, hermit, silly, quirky, weird....and THATS OK! It's a huge relief knowing I'm ok with who I am and words do not hurt me anymore....it's a lovely thing once you can do that.
So what I'm saying is....BE YOURSELF! Dont change because you aren't what others are....that's what makes you unique! There is a simple saying "You are unique...just like everyone else." And that couldn't be more true.
And here's those simple ideas that have come to help me in my life that I promised to share....my advice to you...
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.
Love is not something you think about, it is a state in which you dwell
Stories of imagination tend to upset those without one.
It's not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren't doing it.
The whole of life is just like watching a film. Only it's as though you always get in ten minutes after the big picture has started, and no-one will tell you the plot, so you have to work it out all yourself from the clues.
If you trust in yourself. . .and believe in your dreams. . .and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.
Chaos is found in greatest abundance wherever order is being sought. It always defeats order, because it is better organized.
There are times in life when people must know when not to let go. Balloons are designed to teach small children this.
