What is it you look for in a friend? The good, deeper-level friend you were talking about.

As for the first category of friendships consider this...what you consider as a weirdness might be exceedingly freeing to others and make them respect you more because you refuse to bury that side of you. Treat you better than you are...?? Maybe not. Maybe just treat you like you deserve. Just a thought.
