Is it common for people to recognize a shift in their belief system? I'm not talking religion wise exclusively, but just the general outlook on life. I've been grossly aware of the change I've been undergoing, where major tenets are being stricken from the tablets and have been replaced with something better. The core thing that has changed is from looking at things as a...

I'm aware I've been a shitty friend to anyone reading this who updates their journal regular and is like "hey, why isn't that Canadian ponce posting in my journal!?!" I'll try and be better this week, deal?

I had a dream last night that I was imprisoned. I didn't know what I had done wrong, and for how long I was going to be held for. I realized I was dreaming and decided to dream something else, but when I thought about it this morning, I couldn't help but think of all the people who it's not just a nightmare they can...

Yes, I agree. It scares the Hell out of me!

I love your introspection. You really make me THINK.
Keep balancing the melancholy with optimism, that's what life's about...
Thanks for the beautiful words...

The past few days have had me listening to music that's really effecting on me.
I've been surrounded by points of view that I cannot agree with.
My boss at the comic place, he came in and was talking with a former employee before close, and i was closing up and couldn't help but overhear some of the things he was saying. Like how he...

Got your IM about the middle child on "Family Matters" last night... that's fucked up.

Your boss sounds like he sucks. Move to New York.
Even though I'm going to be living like someone whos's sworn a vow of poverty (I typo'd Perverty on the first effort) I think that tonight was a fairly decent night. I did another one of the pretend to be sick for doctors ( I had a couple scnearios, one where I was supposed to be a car accident victim who was a pain in...

Sounds like it was a very eventful night, which is definitely good.
I lost my hope today, can you help me find it?
It feels like my sould caught some sort of wasting disease and is falling apart in my hands. Things feel pretty desolate. I've had a lot of time alone, and with it have come a lot of questions for myself.
My work has me questioning how good will my life be if I keep...

I can't offer you advice or words of wisdom, but I know how much it sucks to be in that situation, or at least one similar. If you need to vent (more) or whatnot, you know how to find me.

Any ideas on how to beat an addiction or to stick to something?

I'm really bad at beating addictions (i.e. very difficult for me), but I've managed to keep a few under control. I've managed to quit smoking twice before, successfully for years each time, but I'm back to smoking again.
Same w/ other addictions, like going out, shopping, eating decadent foods, etc. Thankfully I've never had an alcohol or drug addiction. Although I HAVE had a dysfunctional addiction to a certain person...
In all cases, my best strategy was to manipulate each situation such that I had NO exposure, absolutely zero, to the addictive factor, no exceptions. Also having strong people around me to help keep me on track has helped. Eventually, I could be exposed to the addictive factor and resist.
Some addictions are harder to beat than others...
Good luck Sweetie!

i am the last person that can answer that! luckily i don't smoke...but when it comes to dieting....i can't not eat things. Food is one of the greatest things in the world.....and I can never keep a diet up for very long.
People have told me lots of things.
People have told me that your average person probably underestimates me. I agree with this statement. Most people who first meet me (with the exception of when Im met in certain circumstances) assume Im a pretty quiet and reserved person. They wouldn't think that I've broken someones ribs. They wouldn't assume I've gotten scarred as a result of...

Yep, in the game of life, I have just become a level 22 Jack of All Computer Trade. I can now summon bugs in even the most hardened applications. Alas, users will still forget their passwords, again, even if it really is the name of their dog.

Haha.
My Mike addiction is raging. Like whoa. If I wasn't so impressed thus far, and if I were a shithead like every other person on the planet, I'd busy myself with looking for things wrong with you so that I could use them as an excuse to stop liking you. And junk. Yeah. It's after 5am and I'm tiiiirrrrrreeedd!
No bones aboot it!
