Finally home from my long ass vacay...had a super time with my family in Illinois, and with my best friend and her baby girl in Wisconsin...
Her boyfriend/baby's daddy's father passed away on Christmas Eve. So it was a bittersweet time for me. I arrived in Green Bay on Thursday night, Friday was the wake, funeral service, and in fine Green Bay tradition, after funeral bar close. So I spent the whole weekend with Bob's family, which was fine, since I had spent time with them before since they've been together with a little break for nine years. And my niece is freaking ADORABLE and I loved spending time with her.
And came back to work today to find my manager had walked out last week, and guess who has his job now??? Yep, ME! Lol. You're looking at the newest produce manager at Ingles. A pretty good raise too. Not to mention the major overtime I'm getting this week. I hope I can handle this shit. I guess we'll see. I don't have a day off til next Tuesday...being I just had 8 days off though I think I will be okay.
Anyway...hope you all had a great Christmas, and have a happy new year!
Had to edit to say, I just remembered...one year ago today, I was in the emergency room, checking myself into the hospital for depression after a weekend binge on coke, an entire year of drinking myself into oblivion. As my mother pointed out after I texted her to tell her about my promotion, I have come a seriously long way since that day. And I wanted to share that with everyone here.
