Drama and papers. That is the extent of my life right now. Hopefully the drama will be lessening now, at least in one aspect. Its a long story, and I'm only peripherally involved so I'm not going to go into it.
But on the other hand, not only did my prof ok my term paper topic of the Piltdown Hoax, but she gave me a long list of references that I would likely find handy! I've always loved this story. The reader's digest version is that in 1912, this guy found a skull that he thought was THE missing link. It wasn't until the 1950s that it was proven to be a hoax. Someone had planted bits of a human cranium and orangutan jaw, which were modified so that they fit entirely in with the preconcieved notions of what that form should look like. And the best part is that there is still no conclusive evidence pointing to the identity of the forger.

The Piltdown Man hoax has fascinated me for years. I have to admit though, I've never written a paper on it. But given the opportunity, I might have liked to have tried. Have fun!
