So, my clothes dryer was in bad shape because it wasn't drying my clothes very well and no lint would build up in the lint catcher. I had begun to question the possibility of foul play of most devious proportion when it occured to me that my dryer is indeed the center of the universe. It then became clear that a fucking BIRD had built a nest in the vent that the air flows out of, so I shoved the nest out with a broom handle and then went downstairs and outside (at 9am) to investigate the nest and its contents. Much to my dismay, I discovered three broken eggs and they were all sunny side up. I felt a pang of regret and also some shame at what had occured. I hung my head and softly hummed the tune of happy-time forgiveness that always makes me realize that there are many, many birds in the world, and my clothes really need to be drying properly because wet boxers tend to chafe. After that day, my life has been better and my clothes much dryer than ever before. I owe it all to my broom.
