No, we can't be there... frown It just so happens that its Idjiit's mother's bday weekend, and well, she takes precedence. Maybe if we didn't like her as much as we do it would be different...Which is not to say that we don't like SouthernBelle, but you know...

Next time though! Glad you had another good trip!
southernbelle:

Got back from Wilmington on Friday. The wife and I had a real nice time. We ended up staying at the C.W. Worth House which was lovely. Very dollhouse-ish. We got to stay in a room with a round "turret" which is something I've always wanted to do.

Lessee...we ate at both the Pilot House and Elijah's, both of which are highly recommended. We also...

Congrats on your upcoming anniversary! Have a great time!

I sound happy all the time?? whatever I think you've only read half my journals, then. I definitely get my dark moods.

But, I'll take the compliment as inspiration to be happy and positive more often since it obviously affects people so well.

kriss is the person I think of as bright and happy. That girl has such a zest for life. She never takes life too seriously, and I love that!!!!

Have a great steel anniversary smile

Got the team name, I'll put it on the next time I update the site.

OK, I have an admission to make, one that I have never said among mixed company:

I am a comic-book geek. One that is deep in the closet.

Why in the closet? Well, because comic-book collectors, along with gamers (the pen and paper kind) and maybe anime fans (and a few others I'm forgetting) carry, well, somewhat of a "reputation."

Let's see if I can...

GEEK! hah! *points and laughs*

Well, its ok, I still like you. Despite the fact that I never got into comic books at all myself, I do love to read, and can appreciate the fact that you do too!

And yes, I chopped the hairs, but that's not a good picture.
mat8drb:
Your team is in: but I need a team name smile

OK I'm back from my San Antonio high school reunion and have recovered sufficiently enough to be able to post a bit about it.

Wow.

All I can say is wow!

It was a lot of fun, and the years melted away. Meaning, that it was like very little time had passed since we last saw one another. Old friendships were rekindled pretty quickly.

Yay to good highschool reunions! I didn't go to mine a couple years ago. 1) it wasn't worth the $300 airfare back to California, and 2) I didn't like most of the people I went to highschool, and really dreaded seeing a certain few. But part of me regrets not going. oh well.

Where you off to next?
mat8drb:
There's a SG Fantasy Football league starting up. Wanna play?

We went to a conference in Medicine Hat in Feb 2004 and ran in to an army brat waitress from Andover, about 8 miles away from the twon I live. It is a small world.

I'm off to San Antonio, Texas, for my high school reunion!

Should be a blast!

I'm armed with a camera, so hopefully I'll get some great shots.

See everyone again on Monday.

Wow.

Humble apologies for my prolonged absences over the last four weeks. I, no kidding, have been out of town for probably two out of the last three days over the last month or so.

I've had various trips to Washington DC, Huntsville, Alabama, Charlotte, Myrtle Beach, and everywhere else. And the trips aren't over yet:

My tour schedule smile

July 14-17: San Antonio, Texas

Hey darling, nice to hear you've been having awesome adventures!

I wish I could do some mad travelling this summer, but right now I'm pretty okay with chillin on the porch in the hammock drinking a Strongbow.

We got back from DC this afternoon, and, at last, I get a short respite before our next road trip, which is June 24-26 in Charlotte. Then it's off to the wife's family in Huntsville, Alabama for the annual July 4 reunion and San Antonio in the middle of July for my high school reunion. Plus I got to squeeze a trip to Fort Worth...

Wow, I'm getting really bad about updating.

Lots of stuff going on since my last post:

1. The house is going pretty well. Got some rooms painted (still a few more to go), the yard is getting into shape, although I got tons of weeds to pull still, but I'm happy overall with the progress. This is a big house--800 square feet bigger than our...
