I really don't like Mondays, particularly after three-day weekends.

I finally was able to catch up on some sleep this weekend, but this has been cancelled out by me staring at a computer screen most of the day today. I'm trying to finish up a manuscript that I presented last week at a conference and send it out to some journal that no one reads. I'm also in the process of trying to prep for a course that I'm teaching in the Fall that I've never taught before.

Lots of folks think that professors don't work particularly hard for the exorbitant salaraies that they make (shyah right) but let me tell you, prepping for a new class is exceedingly difficult--lots of reading, preparing lectures, and so forth. You'd be surprised how many academics are only a few days ahead of students as far as material is concerned. I've been one of those profs before, and don't ever want to repeat that mistake.
