Two rants today:
Rant #1
I forget how much of a pain in the ass it is to buy a home. We're in the process of doing it now. and there is so much that has to be done.
Looking for the right house aside (which is a chore in and of itself, especially if you are picky like me), you have to line up insurance, get an inspector, find a lending institution, and the like. They all have their own demands as well, including copies of seemingly rediculous documents and your signature (in blood, of course) on every existing piece of paper.
And that's just half of it.
There's also the process of selling your own, existing home at the same time and trying to time it well enough that (a) you don't carry 2 mortgages for very long; and (b) you've not homeless. Selling also forces you to put up with agents calling you at all hours. "We'd like to see your home 8am Sunday morning," is not something you want to hear on a regular basis.
Anyway, the process is almost over. My closing date is April 28, so 5 more weeks to go.
I'm crossing my fingers that there won't be any more roadblocks!

One of my hobbies is collecting soccer jerseys from national and club teams all over the world. I've got 100 or so in my collection, from places like England, Turkey, Israel, Japan, and so forth.
But I'll never buy a shirt made by Puma again unless I get a chance to try it on first. Their sizing is so inconsistant, and more often than not when I buy a Puma shirt it doesn't fit. I always wear a medium with Nike, Adidas, Diadora, and other brands. But with Puma, sometimes mediums are too large, sometimes X-larges are too small. And when you're paying up to $70 or so for a shirt in some cases, it just isn't worth it.
