Holy shit...where does the time go?
I must admit, all sorts of things have kept me from being here for quite the while. In fact, this is the longest time I 've been away from SG since I've been a member. I don't really have any good excuses--just a hectic life--so I won't make any. I still love everyone, I promise!
Work has been going well, although It's been very difficult for me to find free time. The department is going through a lot of changes, including trying to hire to folks, a planned move to another building, and an ongoing plan to put together a Ph.D. program. The latter is pie in the sky if you ask me, and I'm not a big supporter of it. Just don't tell them.
On the homefront, Spring Break is right around the corner. As per usual, we're traveling. This time for a week in Hawaii. I have a little guilt for going by myself for three weeks last summer, so I decided to bring the wife along this time.
One of our cats has been sick. She's not been eating or pooping (although she is peeing now). A couple of trips to the vet has resulted in us giving her three medicines a day, which I hate. We have to hold her, force her mouth open, and make her swallow. If she were eating, we could just put it in her food. She drools all over the place and then hides under the bed for a bit.
My mother was diagnosed with emphysema. I'm not surprised. Even though she quit smoking about 10 years ago she still coughs quite a bit. It's mild and in the early stages, so hopefully treatable, and I'm hoping it doesn't interrupt her life too much. My grandfather had it pretty bad, and had to wheel oxygen around with him. I don't want my mom to be like that.
Someone hacked my yahoo acount, so I had to change it and get a new yahoo ID. it's ksfuncp for those of you who want to update your records. I had my previous one for quite a while, so making the transition has been somewhat irritating.
SubCulture is going well also. The first issue is going to be solicited this month, for a May 16 release. So reality is setting in. Issue 2 is also finished, and issue 3 is 3/4 done. We're getting along nicely. We've also done a half dozen webstrips to advertise the book. The website is http://www.subculturecomic.com if you want to take a look see.
That's it for now. I'll try to get better and update more often. If ya still love me, do reply!

P.s. Grad school is grueling, and I'm not having any fun.
p.s. I am very soory to hear about your sick cat and mother! My mom was still smoking when she was diagnosed with early emphysema. She quit smoking successfully (thank god!) but she acts like she's safe now.
