Had a lovely weekend...a couple of good friends from out of town drove here to the country to spend the weekend here with me and the wife, as it's the last weekend before my birthday. It's always nice to see old friends, especially ones you can cut loose with. We ate out entirely too much--Zaxby's on Friday afternoon, Mexican Friday night, Japanese Saturday night--and there are leftovers aplenty in the fridge.
I even, in my advanced age, managed to stay up past midnight on Saturday. What I rebel I am!
I'm not a huge fan of my birthdays, and it really has little to do with me getting older. I'm not terribly fond of much of the overt attention that it brings.
Birthday gifts did come early, however--my favorite being Vanderbilt beating Kentucky in Rupp for the second year running.
