Oh To Have Sugar Again!
I've been drinking diet drinks for the last 10 days or so in an effort to drop a few pounds. This is very difficult for a couple of reasons: (1) Oh how I love sugar soda! and (2) the artificial sweeteners tend to disagree with me.

However, this is the longest I've lasted in quite a while. My stomach is...

Don't forget to set your clocks ahead before ya go to bed tonight!

Man, losing that hour of sleep stinks. Every year. And every year, I stay up WAY too late on 'turn forward the clock' night, which makes it that much more irritating.

Thank goodness it's a Sunday and not a Monday. I'd go postal.

Toodleoo!

I saw Sin City today. I liked it. Very true to the graphic novels, which pleased me. I liked the noir feel of the movie, the characters were very interesting (especially Elijah Wood as Kevin--creepy!). There are about four or five different short story sagas in the film, but they are all just interconnected enough to make the movie flow without seeming choppy.

Four stars...

I ordered my tickets for the lottery for the World Cup today. I've always wanted to go to the World Cup (well, at least since I've become a futbol fan), and dangit, I decided to go for it this year.

I should know whether or not I git the tix by the end of April, but I applied for the three games that the USA...

A strange summer, this one. No European football, or World Cup. Damn these odd number years. Looking forward to seeing some of the games, albeit from the comfort of my own home.

I hope you get the ones you want. The whole application process seemed very confusing when they spoke about it on the radio the other day. I'm assuming the US will be in and will get out of the group stages at least.

Bees. I was kept out of my house by bloody bees.

When I got home this afternoon, there was literally a swarm of twelve or fifteen bees buzzing around my front door, playing some kind of 'tag' game with one another. They weren't in the flowers or bushes or trees all around my house; no--they were blocking my front door.

I don't like bees. Never...

What a beautiful day today...sunny, 75, perfect! What's the best thing to do on said day? Watch baseball! Now that basketball season is officially over (well, for all the teams I care about anyway) it's time for the great American pastime! I watched a college ball game where I work after classes were over. A 4-0 win, which is also good.

Let...

Do you have many Brazilian and Russian Soccer team jerseys and if you do which ones
mat8drb:
I've not seen any of Deadwood; it finished on Satellite just before I got it here, so, meh. England are not having a goal fest tonight against Azerbaijan; currently only 2-0. Perhaps the new shirts are not inspirational enough tongue

Tee hee, I went to the same uni as India. At completely different times. And I've yet to Big Fish, although it is on my list...

I really don't like Mondays, particularly after three-day weekends.

I finally was able to catch up on some sleep this weekend, but this has been cancelled out by me staring at a computer screen most of the day today. I'm trying to finish up a manuscript that I presented last week at a conference and send it out to some journal that no one reads....

Cheer for our men's national soccer team as they face arch-rivals Mexico in an all-important World Cup qualifier at 1pm eastern time on ESPN2.

Man, that sounded WAY too much like a commercial!

----

Well shit. a 2-1 loss. The US looked much more dangerous in the second half, but couldn't equalize. See you Wendesday against Guatemala in Birmingham!

Premiership? I did follow Leeds until last year's debacle. So hence, I just watch a lot of the games. I like Harry Redknapp as a manager; he's doing wonderful things pulling Southampton round; the Southampton-Everton game was a classic, and Crystal Palace play quite attractive football at times now. Chelsea of course look brilliant, and as do Liverpool at times; if they hadn't got such an injury list, I'd bet on them being in front of Arsenal by now.

Errrr. That'll be a no at the moment then. Loving it all. Plus, Bobby Convey at Reading; good lad.
mat8drb:
Birmingham City were excellent defensively last year so could go for it, but this year has been blatant mid table obscurity for them.

I may tape Wednesday;s game; it is, like 1 or 2 am UK time, or I may just grab the highlights show.

Another day, another dollar, eh?

I've got Good Friday off, so I am definitely looking forward to the long weekend. I've been very eye-weary this week--probably as a result of staring at the bloody computer screen too much.

The little fella who sits on my shoulders tells me that I probably should try to get a nice power nap in sometime this afternoon. Chances are,...
