I was watching a movie earlier, nothing interesting but just something to distract and provide company, when the scene switched to an early morning shot of the ocean just north of LA. As the image came and went on my TV I was reminded of wonderful drives across this country. Watching dawn slowly creep in dead silence sometimes for days in a row, chasing sunsets trying to make some motel or campground before dark, quiet middays on open expanses of Texas highway or Arizona desert or Ohio snow dusted fields or cutting through mid-Summer humidity in Louisiana or Florida. One day I want to be able to just do nothing but drive through the U.S. and Canada with no destination and no purpose other than to have more memories like these.
lily:
No destination and no purpose but making memories is a beautiful thing.
