I've been thinking about getting a new phone for a while now and can't really justify it since I'm still technically unemployed (start date keeps getting delayed). That and an unlocked phone is stupid expensive.
I don't have a choice now about replacing the Nexus 5 because the battery just died, if it isn't the battery and it did kick it. I looked up how much it would cost to fix and it doesn't even seem that bad or hard to do.
Wanted to wait until I could have at least a few pays collected.. until then I'm not willing to justify anything besides car repairs. Was supposed to take it in today but brain farted the time.. was 8am but I thought it was afternoon. Ruppps..
Took the time to hit up the electronics store only to see the phone repair counter is closed.
Got a little upset. Not that I wasn't already.. phone broke. Got another call this morning from my grandmother asking how I am. Yeah don't have a phone so... even with Google Voive I didn't miss the call and got the voicemail and all, but it's a bit ridiculous that I only get calls when the phone is off or dead. Less than .001% of the time.
Got to the counter at the electronics store and asked what gives about the repair bench being closed, she's like here's another place close by that will do it.
I get there and it's a hole in the wall. Which I don't mind that at all so long as the work gets done.
Sadly they don't have stock of the Nexus 5 battery I need.
Dude is like.. can you open the back?
I'm like I guess and opened it. But that was the entire point of going out to have the repair done. I don't wanna do it myself as the device is not supposed to be user serviceable.
But giving that I was able to pop the back off dude was like uh, just fix it yourself.
I'm like dafuq dude? Fine.
It'll be cheaper to get a battery on Amazon anyway. 9.95 versus the 38 he wants for it.. but they are mostly all shitty off-brand batteries that will most likely overheat while charging and die within a few weeks. No way they could go the nearly 3 years the old one lasted.
If I can get it to last a few months I could get some money to buy a real phone.
What sucks is that it really doesn't matter what phone I get since I don't need to consider a carrier. As long as it is unlocked and android I'm good.
Buying another phone from Google isn't a priority just now due to the lack of Voice support in Canada still. It's an option since they have LG made models but..
Could just get a shitty Chinese smartphone but...
Just want an LG. Ater the chocolate and Nexus 5 it would be nice to get an unlocked G6. 800+$ .. no.. no.. no... cries in shower. no....
Repair the N5 phone myself for 30$.. fine.
