So a few days ago while I was hunting.. I ran into a bunch of others engaged in the same hunt and figured woohoo, we can all go for bigger game and eyes down, focused on what I was doing I eventually noticed one of them was waving at me.
I'm like dafuq and paid no further attention which probably irritated her so she kept moving in front of me. I was like WHAT?! and noticed she was a friend I'd lost contact with a while back and was like HEY I know YOU! and sent her a text message.
I mean I didn't expect her to reply but given that we were busy hunting it was the best I could manage besides facing each other and doing a little dance.
And other than raising my 310 Defiance of Yasmin level to her head and sniping the wizard floating behind her. She just stepped aside.
I've been playing Destiny long enough that I'm more surprised I don't run into people like this more often but I wouldn't have even bothered to read her gamertag had she not persisted in trying to get my attention. Sadly, her fireteam was full but thankfully calling Court of Oryx T3s sometimes requires that people who aren't in a full fire team message other players with spare spots on their fireteams to join up. Ultimately this allows for 9 guardians in 3 fireteams to make short work of every Antiquated rune we have charged and ready. It is less likely that all of us would stick around to run stolen runes to charge up the rest but after fewer than a dozen most of the assembled guardians scatter to the wind.
In that time though I got onto her party chat and had a little chat. Utterly banal so I'm not surprised that the next few days have been quiet but reactivating that contact is nice.. and I mean just the shock of actually running into someone from that part of the year where I'd purged my list nearly clean.. Since August it has grown back to what it was or more but I'm still bleh. I don't want to play with the majority of them.. and still get annoyed when some of them invite me to party or to their fireteam.. it becomes a hassle to get pulled one way or the other even though that's the main reason I'm still out of guardian retirement. I want to play and help but it sucks to not be able to play with the ones that I want.. sigh.
