How can you be disappointed with yet enjoy something? It has to be new and no real opinion to be had just yet.
Would I be the only one still waiting for an SG property that to update the puddle graphics?
Apparently after 15 years they still can't? I mean it has gotten a smidge better but not really. It's like 2010 practically so it should be expected that they update it.
I look at it and say aww just a bit. Isn't this the same as Atlantis all over again? Better, different but still too similar. Not as much an update as a continuation. Will that have enough grab a new audience who haven't cared about SG till now? That would require marketing too wouldn't it?
By the same token the ships in combat looked updated but sedate at the same time? Later on in the series it will be interesting to see it kicked in the balls and scream (the action).

Ok and on another hand entirely.. is this closer to Battlestar Galactica or classic SG? That's an easy answer.
BSG went a bit bat shit after a while.. I liked it till the bitter end but it lost it's way such that entering mid season and being able to understand what's going on much less care was entirely remote. You can't just jump into it and be able to follow along. Until syndication or box sets are available.. it'll be even more difficult.
How many times will Space re-air the pilot? will it be available in full quality online legitimately? nope... so it has already started (either the beginning of the end or another 10 years). I'd watch it till the bitter end too.
