I've been stalling for several days now - either hoping that I would spontaneously come up with something witty to say or that the urge to say something would go away. I haven't and it hasn't either.
I can't honestly say that Bob was my friend. He and I worked at Playboy in the days when it was located in Chicago. He was an editor and I was a photographer's grunt. I had the pleasure of being allowed to tag along with the editors at lunch a few times. You really can't imagine what those conversations were like. Nobody was better at it than Bob, though.
