So it has been quite near forever, hasn't it? I am afraid there is very little in my life that indicates that this is going to change anytime soon. The reasons for my extended exit stage right are many, and to give all you wonderful people an idea of what I have been up to, here they are:
1. Work has been fucking insane, I mean, even for the video game industry. This is both a good and bad thing, while it has had me working a 50-60 hour week minimum for the last couple months, I am now working on design as well as programming. What this means in short is that I am getting to do more of what I love doing, but I get paid more than I would otherwise. Hopefully it will translate into a nice fat bonus check when the game ships as well. Keep an eye out and I will likely be announcing what I have been furtively wasting my life on soon. Be afraid, be excited, be vaguely and uncomfortably aroused.
2. There is a new lady in the life. The lack of my presence is not any indication of her disapproval or lack of knowledge of my allegiance to you wonderful people. It is more that I have been in the new glow sort of thing which, along with the amount of time I am spending at work leaves little energy for going out to largeish social outings. She is spectacular and has been making my life rather pleasant for the last bit. This is after nearly 2 years of being single, so needless to say, it is a big but very welcome change. Hopefully we will be out to something in the next bit so she can come to know and love you guys as I do.
3. Teh monies... the not fun portion of my absence. I am trying furiously to pay off my debt so that my sister can use the assets that I borrowed against to finance her education. This has left little cash for heading out and about. I knew that I would succumb to the temptation to go out and be social if I kept up with SGLA too much, so I kind of turtled and took it a bit too far, primarily due to factors 1 and 2. Things seem to have mostly resolved themselves, and likely I will be able to lock down my debt very soon and start saving, which pleases me greatly.
Misc: I am thinking of getting one of these to save on gas http://www.xtracycle.com/. This site is like an RPG for finding new music, level up in elitism! http://www.thesixtyone.com/. Looks like Barack destroyed in NC and may still win IN. I for one welcome our new overlords. I miss you guys, what have you all been up to?
