Seww our topic this week given by the ever lovely @missy @rambo and @lyxzen is to take ya'll a lil bit round our cities! I'm from a city that is one of the top tourist destinations in the world, but one with an interesting twist being: almost EVERY tourist attraction in Vegas is on ONE STREET!
So please do tag along as I throw out some local insight on, what might even be your first, off strip Las Vegas adventure!
So lets be real, summer time in the Mojave desert is brutal. Save yourself from the luke warm water, shoulder to shoulder shit show of the trendy day club, because trust me boozing in the 100+ degree dry heat is a ticket straight to an ER. Instead I suggest you head over to the galaxy theaters on sunset and green valley. Why a movie you ask? Well because in true Vegas fashion you can get drunk here before the clock ticks noon, and the chairs are comfy as fuck, full on recliner status. As for movie suggestions have you seen the sequels to THE PURGE and SIN CITY?!
Now that you've had a healthy breakfast of beer and popcorn, we should probably feed you something real. Lucky for you one of the best mexican restaurant chains in town has a location 1 block from the galaxy theater, so your drunk ass can walk! (Or take a cab, just dont drink and drive in my city!) Anyway, Bonito Michoacan on Valle Verde and Sunset has everything you can ask for in a Mexican joint: great atmosphere, wide selection of tequilas, fresh table side guac, and amazing food. One of my favorites has to be the camarones abuelito timo, which is a bacon wrapped shrimp with bomb dipping sauce! Try it!
Well I don't know about you but after I've done my fair share of morning drinking and nomming delish mexi food, I kinda just want to smoke some weed and maybe go for a stroll; so here's where I leave you with the "decide your own ending" of our off strip day. Since you're in the area, why not check out the district at green valley ranch? Grab a tea or coffee, or another drink - restaurants here have great happy hours, and check out the shopping, people watch or if that wallet is burning a hole thru your shorts step into the casino for a more mellow, localesque gambling experience. But if you're more like me grab a pal, a blunt and head out to one of the surprisingly beautiful nature spots such as lake mead, red rock, mt charleston, or the springs preserve and look west to catch a heart warming desert sunset to seal the deal on your new appreciation for off strip Vegas!
Ps. Plan your trip around the end of the year so you can come see the black heart burlesque show with me on nov. 28 at brooklyn bowl lv!!!
