Hey .. wanna hear a cool story? This is a comment I left in malloryknoxx's journal, but since I'm too lazy for a proper update hehe....
I was at the doctor's just a few hours ago (today). My right eye felt like it had something in it for the last couple of days so I thought I'd get it checked out.
I once had to get a metal shaving out of my eye. I was drilling through some steel at work and a piece blew into my eye. I tried to get it out myself for the first couple of days but no dice. And apparently the longer you leave something in your eye, the deeper it gets, because your eye starts to grow over it. So after trying to get this thing out with a cotton bud, the doctor says she'll need to use a needle.
Yes, that's right! She tells me she needs to stick a needle into the centre of my eye (where the steel was). I had to keep my eye perfectly still while she did this (for obvious reasons). It wasn't easy because your natural reaction is to look away ... but this thing was in my iris. There's no looking away
Are your knees numb now .. feeling a little queezy? hehe. This is what was going through my head today in the waiting room. I was lucky though, because all it was this time was some irritation.

Metal shaving in the eye. *shudder*
I'm SUCH a weenie about anything getting in my eyes that I can't even wear contacts. But - I'm glad to hear it wasn't anything like that this time
LOL @ "are your knees numb" I'm not so much afraid of doctors as I am...well....more combative because they can be SUCH beeding assholes.
