Guess I have a lot to say today...
I love when I get random thoughts in my head while I'm getting ready for bed. Heh, that rhymed....
Anyway I was thinking about the most memorable character "voices" that have hit the big screen. Voices that are just so cool that you can recognize them anywhere. A few examples:
Darth Vader - Duh?
Yoda - Know me, you do.
Optimus Prime - One shall stand, one shall fall, yadda yadda.
Starscream/Cobra Commander - Yeah I know it's tv but I still love that voice.
Captain Kirk - The original of course. Who doesn't yell "KHAAAAAAAAAN!!!" every now and then?
Gollum/Smeagol - Precious?
So, I'm going to personally add someone to this list. Bane. The movie is still in theaters yes, and the others I have listed have been in multiple movies/tv shows over the years so they're probably more widely recognizable. But The Dark Knight Rises, and of course the rest of the Batman movies Christopher Nolan has done, are HUGE at the box office so they've been widely spread through recent memory.
Bane's voice, and I'm not sure if it's actually Tom Hardy doing it because I haven't looked it up yet, enthralled me throughout the movie. Whatever they did in post production to enhance that sound is just brilliant. It seemed to fill the entire sound stage when he spoke. It surrounded you and all the while he was standing right in front of you. It just added to the effect of the character much, much more than if it seemed like the voice was coming straight from him. Man I want to see it again now!
You could also put Heath Ledger's Joker in the above list, I honestly didn't think about him until now.
End of line....
