Fed up with my job, my life, and everything that revolved around me, I needed to restart. I quit my job as a mechanic, published my book, and changed everything. Last June, I packed up everything and embarked on a trip across the country. I didn't know where I would go or where it would end. I only knew that I needed to go.
For three months I drove around the U.S. I visited 16 states, a number of cities, and several landmarks and national parks. The entire time I took pictures along the way, building my photography and documenting the best I could. I was kind of awestruck most of the time so wasn't very good about it. Figured I'd use social media and show off what I was doing, but I'm terrible at social media and was just enjoying everything for myself.
When I ran out of money in Arizona, I had two choices. Run back to Miami and return to the old world or find something else. The only place I could make a quick change was in Utah. I moved in with my Uncle in Salt Lake City and am now working for his window washing business. It's not glamorous life, but it's helping me raise some money to run off again.
In the mean time, while I'm here, I've been focusing on my writing and photography. Maybe one day I'll be able to open up my own studio and be able to travel the world for a living. I've made it this far, no reason I can't make it further.
