I found out today that my aunt has breast cancer.
they're giving her a year
..this makes 3 women in my family who have battled it.
2 never got to beat it.
wow.
my weekend just went from bad to worse
so now i just need to pray.
and hard.
i can't watch someone else close to me go through this.
i saw my grandma (who was tough to the core) totally shut down.
almost like she was giving up.
but she never did.
even the day she died she did it fighting
i need God.
where is He?

God? I still think He's there somewhere. But if we could understand Him, He wouldn't be God. I've always thought of it as dogs trying to understand humans; they only comprehend us when we're directly helping or hurting them, but not when we might be doing something else for them that their brains couldn't possibly comprehend. I don't know if that's at all comforting, but I didn't want to leave some saccharine message that would come off as naive posturing.
Sometimes praying can help, even if it's only the person who's praying.
