Today was quite entertaining. The morning started with me waking up and reading Internet Group Declares war on Scientology and started my morning by watching their YouTube clip.
The 700Mhz FCC Auction also started today which I have been eagerly awaiting for some time. Round 3 starts tomorrow so I'll be keeping a watch on all that.
Then I spent my evening watching the Scientology website go up and down while reading all the press articles Anon has been getting. I wish them much luck. Since even though I usually dislike script kiddies I support their cause on this one, because the legal team for Scientology threatened Slashdot and they are the only ones to ever have had a user comment removed from the site. As a advocate of freedom online and in general, that is extremely offensive to me. And then the whole Tom Cruise video thing where they have fought and sent out notices making sure it gets taken down everywhere online. Gawker is hosting the video and has refused to take it down so the Scientology kiddies have now filed legal action against them. The rush of Anon kids though will probably die down after a few days even though they've managed to get press world wide and take down tons of websites all day. Attention spans are short so everything online will go back to normal and a new raid will be plotted for whatever pisses off the script kiddies next.
Oh, while watching the riots underground from a bunker 20 floors below sea level, someone online recognized me. Always interesting running into people on totally random IRC networks that you haven't ever actually talked to before.
I've also become increasingly paranoid about protecting myself on the interwebs since companies like AT&T want to filter our web traffic, and my ISP and others such as Time Warner want to put bandwidth limitations and such on my interwebs. So in my response to that, I have no chosen to encrypt all of my web traffic so they can't see the types of information I am transmitting (everyone join the Tor network) but it also punishes them for trying to increase profit margins and take the easy way out and avoid the real problem instead of building infrastructure to improve their actual quality of service. Encryption adds up to 20% overhead. So they get to eat a little extra for being dicks.
I keep starting to rant and say things that might get me into trouble then notice and hafta go back and delete... I'm done before something bad happens. We're all being watched >.>
