I've been accepted to a September conference at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. It's very exciting... I'll be presenting my research in a great environment, and I'll be having a bit of a vacation while I'm at it. The trouble is, I need to figure out how to cover my travel expenses. My university only provides a pathetic amount of travel/research funding per semester, and what they pay won't nearly cover my costs.

Now, my mother graciously offered to help me out with the money. The problem? She wants to go with me! Firstly: I cannot be expected to bring my mother to a professional conference. And secondly: I want to go with Josh, but it's not a possibility financially.
