with a little research and thought about the medicine way of the cherokee group I attended in the past I have had a spiritual satori about spirit. I have read that spirit guides are a product of new age ideas and I think that connecting to spirit is a matter of awareness. Spirit is neither the master nor slave of man and can be many things , not just a guide, not just a healer, not just a source of spiritual energy (some might say magic) , but spirit can play many roles according to the intent of the seeker and the spirit. So now I feel like I can commune with spirit out of awareness and not just sitting imagining (which by the way is not really a link to spirit in my opinion because the Dagara say you can't fake spiritual connection, either you connect or you don't). I am not an expert or sage but I feel that connection is more possible in a natural sense and not by reading a thousand and one books on the subject. So now I will try to be more aware and see where spirit will lead...
