I have a strange question. Do you think a man or a woman, being very drunk, should write strange things to the object of their love?

My friends, including me, have often come across the fact that strangers or acquaintances get drunk, and then take the phone to write to a person they like. I was among those to whom they write, and I can say that two out of ten people, roughly speaking, turn out to be really aggressive or not very good. At the same time, they do not realize what nonsense or something bad they can say. And when they realize this on a sober head, they begin to apologize, but after that everything repeats again and again until you block them. Either they continue to carry the same nonsense or even worse, being already sober, because the mask has been removed.

How do you feel about alcohol in general and what do you think about it?

I find it very difficult to write anything more than a standard letter to someone. I have no issue with alcohol, regarding it as a matter of personal choice either way. But, to address your query, in my misspent youth I found being very drunk removed my inhibitions and freed my imagination, so I made psychological connections more easily and was inspired to write what seemed like significant work at the time. Of course, when I was sober, even though I remembered the train of thought that led to the insight, in the cold light of day what I'd written was usually worthless. These days, although being slightly intoxicated (ie - a couple of beers rather than a full crate 😄) does help the prose flow more freely once I'm already working and know what I'm aiming at, I do my work on water, as Kipling said (https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/46783/gunga-din).

Alcohol and expression very rarely ends in a good experience. I don't drink myself for a variety of reasons ( reasons if truly interested, I will tell later). But I worked in the bar industry for 15 years and have been in the restaurant/ hospitality industry since I was 16. I don't believe that alcohol enhances good times. It's all about odds and your people. When someone sends a text or writes someone while drinking, it muddys up the actual emotions. Nothing comes out right. Decisions are second guessed, words slip out of context, thoughts flow faster that words. I am sorry that you and your friends have had to deal with people who get drunk and decided to empty their feelings out in your direction.
