.ARMY POINTS QUESTIONS

How do I get army points?

There are a variety of ways to get army points.

Stickers - Buy some SG stickers from the SG shop (or check the bottom of the sticker gallery for shops that give you free SG stickers with your order). Put a sticker on some public property. Take a picture of it and submit it through the army page. It'll tell you that you only get 1 point for a sticker photo, when in reality you get 5. This will be fixed soon. Check the gallery for examples of where to put stickers.

Banners - Create a banner advertising SG (examples in the banner gallery), submit it through the army page, and if it gets accepted you get 10 points (again, it'll say you only get 1. Ignore that, it'll be fixed soon.)

News articles - Submit an article to the newswire and if the article you wrote gets accepted, you get 15 points. If someone else's article about the same story gets accepted and not yours, you don't get the points I don't think. Join the SG news group if you have more questions.

Advice - SG has an advice column on the news page to which you can submit questions to be answered by the SuicideGirls. If your question gets posted, you get 15 points.

Referrals - Note: given the unreliability of the referrals system, it may be best to buy your friend a gift account instead. And make them pay you. You get the same amount of points and it's much less likely to get screwed up. See below for details. That said... every member of SG has a special referral link. It gives you 100 army points every time someone joins the site after clicking it. Check the army page for your special link. It's http://suicidegirls.com/?youralias where "youralias" is your current SG user name. It must be your current user name, not the one you originally signed up with if it's different. Put the link on your homepage, your myspace profile, your message board signature, whatever, and with luck some referrals will roll your way. You'll have to change the link manually for each place you put it if you change your alias.

Give the gift of SG - If you go here, you can give the gift of SG to a friend who's not already a member. For doing so, you get 100 army points. NOTE that you will NOT get army points if you renew the account of a friend who's already a member.

What do I do with my army points?

Check the army page for a list of stuff you can get with your points. It ranges from 500 points for a free t-shirt to 25,000 points for roundtrip tickets to be Missy's assistant on an SG photoshoot.

How do I redeem my points?

How do I know which of my stuff has been accepted for points?

Go to your pics folder and see if you have a special folder called "SGARMY UPLOADS". It will be marked as "protected" and will contain any of your banners, sticker photos, or desktop wallpapers that have been accepted by SG.

No, you get 5. The "1 point" thing is a bug that will be fixed soon.

Why can't I see any of the sticker photos in the gallery?

There was a bug that made sticker photos invisible in the gallery. It should be fixed now so this FAQ question is kind of obsolete.

I submitted a bunch of sticker photos a while back but they're not in the gallery and I don't have my points. What gives?

Sticker photos are a low priority for sixela so it will take a while before the photos are added and you get your points. Be patient.

Some of my sticker photos weren't accepted. Why not?

Sticker placement has to count as promotion to be accepted for points. Stickers placed around your house generally won't be accepted. Stickers placed on your junk or otherwise naked parts of your body won't get accepted. I placed a few in bathroom stalls and they weren't accepted. Check the gallery to get a feel for what works.

Any advice for improving my chances of getting points for stickers?

Advice from sixela:
1. don't upload the same photo multiple times
2. don't upload multiple shots of a sticker in the same place
3. make sure the photos are clear and you can tell where the sticker is placed

.BANNER GUIDELINES

Your basic banner is a cropped photo of one (or more) of the SuicideGirls with some text, usually the URL or site name at the least. All banners must be exactly 468 x 60. They can be either GIF or JPG. They can be animated but they must be 45kb(?) or under. It may actually be less than that.

I submitted a banner but it wasn't accepted. Why not?

There are various reasons a banner doesn't get accepted. It has to look impressive and pleasing to the eye. It needs to be a good crop of the original photo, and any text needs to be easy to read. Fancy effects aren't necessary, but they can go a long way as long as you don't go too over the top. If you suck at Photoshop (or other image editing software) don't bother submitting banners until you get better at it. That just annoys the banner-approval gods. Look through the banner gallery to see what kinds of banners get accepted. Generally banners with the girl's name on it don't get accepted, but there have been exceptions. Just make the banner really good. Also, the official word from Sean is that banners must contain no nipples or beaver.

Hey, where did my banner go?

Sometimes older banners will be removed from the gallery to make room for newer ones. Don't ask me how they choose what stays or what goes, I have no idea. And don't worry, you don't lose any points if your banner gets the axe.

I convinced someone to join SG but they didn't use my special link. How do I get my points?

You don't. No special link, no points. Sorry.

Sorry, if they used your link but you didn't get points, you're out of luck. Yes, it sucks, but there are limits to the technology or whatever. It didn't work, get over it.

You can't. Unless the person comes forward and tells you him/herself, it will remain a great mystery.

What happens if I get an SG tattoo? I heard something about a lifetime membership...
