New Firefox greasemonkey plug-in time! Private Group Fix - This prevents accidentally leaving a private group so you don't have to beg to be let back in, with a dialog box to confirm leaving that group.
(I couldn't think of a better name but you get the idea.)
Go here for installation instructions and the rest of the thingies I've made.
The girl, A, gave me the measurements of the two rooms. It looks like they're even roomier than we thought, I don't think I'd have any problem getting my stuff in there. I'd have to go visit and double check where the doors and closets are, I'm not sure the TV would fit between them in the bedroom.
I'm pretty much convinced I should live there. I'll need to visit again to make sure. I haven't heard back from the other lady I called. I'm going to look around for more listings, but I feel good enough about A's place that I'm not going to be too bothered if I can't find another place to look at.
Gah. What if my stuff doesn't fit through the doors??? Okay maybe I'm being a little paranoid there. I hope.
Redbeard3 and I were having a really neat discussion about the progression of technology and computers. In talking about 5" floppies I remarked that if I still had mine they'd be like high-tech time capsules. Redbeard3 still has his. I hope he can find a 5" drive and rediscover what's on there... he said there might be homework on some! If I had mine I could peep my old drawings I did with that classic Apple IIe staple, Logo. With the triangle that was a turtle!
Do they even use supercomputers to make 3D graphics anymore? Used to be they had to for everything... but now people can have 3D graphics on their crappy cheap TV commercials. And now they make small boxes... "consoles" if you will... that are capable of some really fancy 3D graphics.
I remember going into a Best Buy when the N64 came out, and being completely and utterly dazzled by Mario 64. My thoughts were along the lines of "how is this even possible??" I was in awe. I of course got one not long after that.
Thing about Mario 64, though, is the really poor "camera" work. That game never fails to make me motion sick. Zelda 64 on the other hand never once gave me that problem. Might be interesting to learn what exactly were the mistakes that made Mario 64 so nausea-inducing.
To give you an idea how much I love my cat Sabrina, here is an example from Monday night.
My cat Sabrina is so funny. Whenever I open a box of cheez-its or a bag of chips or some other snack, she comes up to me and stares longingly. You should see the look on her face. It's so funny. I always try to give her a little bit of whatever it is. Cheez-its are her favorite.
When I opened my box of cheez-its Monday night, I had put my delicious 900-page Javascript reference book on the corner of my bed (since my desk is too messy to put it there). Sabrina came up to that corner of my bed with that longing gaze.
Here's the kicker: I put the cheez-it on my Javascript reference book. I knew full well the page would get crumbs and grease spots all over it, but I didn't care because I love my kitty. And sure enough, page 263, section 15.4, Form Verification Example? Several grease spots. That's how I show my love to my kitty.
Originally this is where I started to talk about Annie. I thought better of it.
I'm having a panic attack as I type this, but I've decided not to take the tranquilizer for minor panic attacks anymore. That stuff is highly addictive and I don't need another problem on top of everything else. Not that I was taking it for panic attacks often enough to get addicted, but the less I take, the better. I want to see if the panic attacks will go away on their own after a while. This one started around 4:45pm. Still going strong at 5:25. edit: pretty much gone by 6:45.
It started because of all the rigmarole I had to go through just now to get a bag of food for my cat Shadow. See, he has a skin allergy so he needs the prescription allergen-free dry food. I had called our vet last week and they set aside a bag of it for me.
So I go to the vet today to pick it up because we were all out of his food. The girl behind the counter goes and grabs the bag they set aside for me last week.
It was the canine allergen-free dry food.
I told her, and she said "oops" and looked around for a bag of the feline food. There wasn't any in the main area where they keep all the food, so she went to the back. And came back empty-handed.
She said they wouldn't be getting the feline allergen-free food until next Tuesday.
If Shadow has regular food, his skin gets all gross and patchy and it itches him real bad. I really didn't want to have to feed him regular food until next Tuesday.
The girl called another clinic, they didn't have any. She called another clinic and THANK GOODNESS, they had some. That part took forever. One of the techs told me how to get there. To be on the safe side the girl printed out the directions for me as well... it also took forever.
So get this. I knew, going to our normal vet, that I didn't have my credit card with me. I did have my debit card, and as I had walked into the vet I saw a sign saying they took my kind of debit card.
But I drive to the other place, they pull out the bag, and I ask if they take debit cards. "Is it a Visa?" she asked. Do they make debit cards that are Visa?
Anyway, I had to drive all the way back home, rifle through the papers all over my desk, find the credit card, and drive back. Finally, I paid for the bag and brought it home.
And that's the end of THAT chapter! *swishes scarf*
Here is a crappy picture of a papier-mâché gargoyle I made back in high school. It used to live at grandma's, but at the last dinner at her house she told me to take it. Not sure why
Anyway now it lives with me so I figured I better show you a picture
And here is a picture I took in California that is nice to look at.
Can somebody PLEASE find me these??
I'll pay you with REAL MONEY $$$$$
They're called Pea Crackers as you can see. They are an Asian snack created by the esteemed Koloko company. I've tried to order them from Asian food websites but they always write back saying they have none in stock
I hope they haven't been discontinued

not having to nail the back of your shelves is even better just make the proper measurement makes sure you give it a little so it will slide in easy. you dont want it to fit in there to tightly or itll be a pain but not to loose either LOL
i dont think ive ever seen pea crackers but ill take a look
ive been trying to edit down images for my next journal entry from last weekend and so far i have 16 that i want to put up
i think your gargoyle is very cool it prolly scary for your grandma
i am preparing for a zelda game day for tommorow im gonna print out your walk through when i get up
my debit card has a visa logo on it
theres a lady that started at my work that looks like you i was talking to her today and it seemed very weird i may take a photo of her to compare but it kinda freaks me out
Why didnt you talk about Annie????
do you remember the 7 inch floppy???
its fairly unlikely that his 5inch floppy will still work even if he finds a drive to read it. those things didn have the greatest shelve lives
The pea crackers look great - I'll have a look for some in my local Asian supermarket if I get a chance. They had some wasabi flavour crisps in there once, with a picture of a boy crying on the back.
