Dreary weather today, rained all day. Went to breakfast at crappy expensive
place called Victoria's. The food was blah and it was of course overpriced.

After that my aunt left us to go for her expensive hair/facial/etc.
appointment, and the girls left us to play yet more DDR (they're favoring
the new American version, "Into The Groove" ).

I had a panic attack as we were finishing up breakfast and mom and I went
back up and I took my meds for panic attacks. I don't think that stuff is
working anymore. I was still feeling it only a few hours ago.

Played more Zelda. Video game specifics within:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
I have a saved game that I've beat, but I was missing some heart
containers and kinstone fusions and many figurines. The kinstone fusions
were a pain, I was down to 9 left to go, got more and thought I'd finished
them, but had 2 more to go. But one was Tina the purple-haired teacher who
never wants to fuse, and one was in a crack on Mt. Crenel's base. So with
those done and the Tingle Trophy in hand, I found the last few heart
containers without too much trouble, then it was those figurines. Argh. I
hadn't been too careful with my mysterious shells in the game (it was the
first time I'd played) so I kept having to buy 30 shells for 200 rupees. I
knew the secret where if you dig with the mole mitts to the left of Link's
door, you get 20 rupees each time. So I did that about a million times to
earn the cash to buy enough shells since it took like 70 to get a decent
probability. For the last three figurines I got enough shells to make the
probability 100%. FINALLY, with 136 figurines in hand, I got the Carlov
Medal, showed it to the guy outside Mama's Cafe, and got into the locked
house for the final piece of heart, the 600 rupees, and the phonograph for
the game's sound test.

You know, I wasn't all that impressed with the soundtrack of Minish Cap. I
like the Minish Village song but otherwise nothing really stuck out. I mean,
a lot of the music is directly from other Zelda games. Guess that's part of
the reason why it's not that impressive.

ANYway later on this evening I let my 14-yr-old cousin play Zelda. She's not
too great with the video games and often asks me what to do, but we left and
came back and she had actually done quite well. Sorta. I was afraid (as
always) she'd break the game or otherwise mess it up, but it was fine. I
should trust her more but my games are important to me (nerrrrrd).

Mom and I went to dinner at Grotto Pizza, a nice mushroom, broccoli, and
onion pizza. I got beach fries but they weren't too good. Thrasher's is
better.

THEN mom wanted to play DDR so we went to the arcade. I was a little worried
because the other night when I joined mom and the girls at the arcade I was
overwhelmed by the loudness and crowdedness, but I guess the combination of
the weather and the early hour made for a less overwhelming environment.
First I tried that new American version of DDR, wasn't all that impressed...
but it takes some getting used to.

Then the extreme DDR freak on the DDR machine kindly took a break to let mom
and I play (his feet were going a mile a minute while he was playing). Mom
told me to take care of the button-pressing, and I chose double instead of
versus, which turns out to mean mom and I don't do the same steps, and there
are actually a lot of breaks between each other's steps. We didn't like that
so we asked the DDR dude if we could play another game and he said it was
cool. We did versus which means we do the same steps, which is what we
wanted initially. Mom told me the game had my favorite dance on it from our
home version!!! Synchronized Love by Joe Rinio (sp)! I LOVE that song/dance.
It's a 4 foot on light mode.

I was a little worried because last time I did DDR here at the beach we
accidentally chose a high level of difficulty and I didn't stop dancing when
I should've so I got all dizzy and overheated. And Synchronized Love is a
bit of a hard dance even on light mode. But not only did I not have a
problem, I did ALL the steps, all 209! (The steps were the same as on the
home version). Oh I was so pleased. After that we did a couple slightly
easier dances, and I missed some steps because I haven't played in ages.

I kept saying afterward "that was FUN" because it was! I got me my favorite,
a cherry coke, and I'm sipping it here as I type this. Now I think I'm going
to sign onto chat and see if Redbeard3 is on.

Have fun people!

I wonder if Grotto's Pizza is still good. Been so long, I really don't remember it... but it was where we'd always go in RB.
