Recommendations needed:

I think I need a new web host. I just registered a new domain name (uh oh) and I want to park it somewhere that allows CGI for once so I can play with PHP and the like (I need to finally learn that stuff).

I'm not saying I'm ditching my current host. My current host is fine for what I need for my other domain (which I'm keeping).

It would be nice though to have a host that's better about answering emails sent to their support department.

Of course, I want it to be relatively cheap, but not so cheap that it's 1) crappy or 2) going to fold soon after I join so I'll need to find something else. Gotta be reliable too. My current host has very little downtime that I've noticed.

I sent an email to my current host's support dept. asking if I could park my new domain name with them. They've been bad about answering support emails in the past. But would I need to get a separate account with them for the new domain name? Or could I use my current account somehow?

I don't think I'll use them anyway, since no CGI.

So let me know if you have any recommendations. Maybe you can tell me who hosts you and I can use them and give you a referral

Due to the nature of the new site (once I put it up), I think I'm going to need a higher tier of service than the simple level I use now. I'm not sure how much space I'm going to need or how much monthly transfer I'm going to need, but depending on how the site evolves and the kind of traffic I start to get, I might need a lot.

Eh, for now since I'm running out of money I'll probably just buy a low tier of service somewhere and then upgrade once I have an income. Maybe I'll keep the site a secret until then. Maybe I won't even get a host until I have a job.

So this is it, I'm gone after this entry, but you'll be getting brief updates from my phone. Very brief. I'm going to try to follow L7rules' advice (I forgot that I had only imagined he gave this advice ) and not think too much about how much I miss you guys and miss my computer.



But I'll have music with me, and my palm computer... last time I brought my Gamecube, don't know if I'll be doing that again this year. If I do I'll bring Paper Mario and Zelda. I know I'll bring my GBA. I should really play my new Harvest Moon game (honestly I just bought it to get the cute plush doggie that came with it free).

Ok I just went to the post office to mail a couple packages, one to the now-grey Redbeard3 and a non-SG friend. There was this DICK who kept popping his gum And then he held up the line because the mail clerk had to go to the back, and I think the mail clerk couldn't even help him in the end. And while the mail clerk was in the back... the guy pulls out his NEXTEL WALKIE TALKIE PHONE

Oh I was pissed. I'm already stressed with this beach trip and the need to move out soon and find a job (more on that when I get back probably). I wouldn't have gone but I wanted to get those packages sent out before I left. ARGH

p.s. Myspace sucks. I'm trying to change the email associated with it. They need to send a confirmation email to my old address. I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY EMAIL. What the fuck dudes. I mean, come on. I emailed customer service. Jerks.

I'm going to try to put together my new raster Annie poster and see if that helps calm me down. Oh and printing it out again used up the remaining 60-70% of ink in the color cartridge I bought two days ago.
