Update Two new Firefox greasemonkey extensions in this update. They are both really handy and you'll love them.
Help the homeless.
Give them a piece of cardboard to write on.
I'm kidding.
I took the following picture from the patio of my grandparents' place in Palm Desert. They live on a golf course. (See my "stuff that's nice to look at" folder for a bigger version.)
I made a new version of the smilies greasemonkey extension. BE SURE TO UNINSTALL THE OLD ONE (go to Tools > Manage User Scripts, choose SG Spiky Smiley and click Uninstall) and get the new one on my greasemonkey extensions webpage. It adds a couple of the "secret" smilies and adds another Trillian one. :tuffy: :menstruation:
UPDATE YOUR SMILIES EXTENSION: I just fixed a problem with the smilies extension, now you need to update it. With the old version, when you would go to edit a journal entry, it would add a bunch of funky line breaks and mess up the spacing. I've fixed that now... I think my fix makes the update page load a bit more slowly but it shouldn't be too big a problem. Let me know if you experience any difficulties.
NEW EXTENSION NUMBER ONE The Extra Tags extension
Now wherever you edit anything, there are more options in the "insert" menu that lets you insert the special SG tags. Not only does it force the full list everywhere, it adds a couple of the "secret" ones that are never listed anywhere. Try it out and you'll see that the tags work everywhere. You can quote somebody in a journal comment, use spoilers in groups, the whole deal. (This will be repeated verbatim in my next update.)
NEW EXTENSION NUMBER TWO Edit Old Entries. This will add an "EDIT" link to all of your own journal entries, next to the timestamp at the top. This allows you to edit any journal entry you've ever posted, even really old ones. (Again, this will be repeated next time.)
I'm enjoying this audioscrobbler business. (The name irritates me though.) Yesterday I listened to music ALL DAY to generate more stats. It was fun to listen to a lot of music again. Helped motivate me to clean my room, too, which is really something. Soon my room will be really livable for the first time in a long time.
Anyway there've been a few songs that I've played on repeat like 10 times in a row because I love them. Examples: Sophie Ellis-Bextor's "Mixed Up World". The Smiths' "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out". My namesake, Annie's "Me Plus One".
And don't even talk about Saint Etienne's "Stars Above Us". My current count of listening to that song is 24. I've played it on repeat like a million zillion times. I'm just plain addicted to this song. It's a little frightening.
So if you're looking at that "recently played" image that gets auto-generated and see the same song in every spot, it's because it's one of my favoritest songs ever and I'm listening to it on repeat. And it's likely to be "Stars Above Us".
And now to switch gears, I present you with my illegible handwriting. Some of it may be redundant.
You know... with my new addiction to this Saint Etienne song, I may experience a renewed obsession with the lead singer Sarah Cracknell. Meaning she'll temporarily replace Annie in my affections. Can you believe that? If so, I'm going to change my name AGAIN to something I thought up a while back. But I'll give ample warning this time.
Wow. Even I didn't think it would be possible for anyone to thwart Annie as the reigning queen of Crux's heart. But she's still my #1 homegirl for now, so I may be speaking too soon. We shall see.
I just joined Saint Etienne's fan club. Why I hadn't before, I have no idea. I probably missed a whole host of brilliant fan-club-only CDs and goodies. Damn
Click the spoiler to watch me recite all the words to Biz Markie's classic old skool rap song "Just A Friend" mostly from memory (I'm always forgetting that last verse). I spell everything like he says it, and I add some emphasis to certain words for the sake of hilarity.
