ARGH*#&($(^$@#%(
I HAVE AWFUL ASIAN POP MUSIC STUCK IN MY HEAD FROM THE JAPANESE RESTAURANT
Otherwise this made my morning. Not only did she answer my question... she saw the lyrics archive. So great
So I ended up not going to the SGVA amusement park trip
When I looked up the directions and discovered that it's a 3 and a half hour drive from here, as opposed to the two hours it took to get to the other amusement park for last time, I decided I just couldn't handle being in the car that long. There probably would've been traffic too, making the drive even longer. Ah well
Unfortunately a lot of people had to cancel for this event, too. But there will be more events in the future, I suppose. Hopefully we'll go back to that first amusement park later this year like we've been talking about.
I FINALLY listened to Saint Etienne's new album Tales From Turnpike House. They're going for a jazzy sort of sound it seems. Stars Above Us is rad, disco-flavored. I think it should've been their first single, not Side Streets. There's one part that's straight out of Kylie's Love At First Sight, like the exact chord change. No wonder I love it
I'm so predictable. I hope they release it as a single and do a video... this time with way more Sarah Cracknell. And they better tour here and perform it too. Or I will look
like -->
My car Annie is due for her emissions test. I don't know if it's annual or every couple of years. I've only had to have her tested once and I can't remember what year it was. I bought her in '03. Oh and she passed the last one. I'm sure she'll be fine this time around.
Now as long as I don't wait so long that they threaten to suspend my registration, I'll be good.
It's funny, Im more protective of my car now that I've named her and decided that she's a "she". A couple times I've gone out just to check that she's still there. What a dork. I do love my car though. I think I take her for granted sometimes.
A few days ago I got a message out of the blue from an old friend I hadn't been in touch with for years. Thank you Myspace
We've been doing a lot of catching up. She was one of my first ever internet friends, back in '97. So long ago. I met her thanks to my interest in Fleetwood Mac, and she got me into Stevie's solo stuff. I'm glad she and I are back in touch. We were best buds back then.
Man, I'm listening to Stevie... it's been a while since I listened to her solo stuff. Not having listened in a while I was feeling kind of skeptical about its quality... but damn, it's great. Giving me chills. She was, and still is, a rockin' lady.
Great, now I'm going to start listening to her more and start feeling really bad I missed her show on the 10th. Argh.
If I had gone, I would've worn my platform boots. The first time I saw Stevie in concert, I was right up there at the stage, but even with the boots I was too short to see over it. Then came the part during Edge of Seventeen ("JUST LIKE THE WHITE WINGED DOVE" etc), she came to the front and went along touching people's hands, and I was too short to reach. But she did look right at me and give me a smile at least
Here are the boots, I know you're just dying to see them
and the lady's feeling just like the moon that she loved
don't you know that the stars are a part of us?
oh and the lady's feeling just like the moon that she loved
and you say...
I never thought it could
my bella donna...
come in out of the darkness...
