Somebody recommend a good CD ripping program. The one I was using, dBpowerAMP, is apparently not free at all. They LIED to me. I need one that looks up the CD in an online database so I dont have to type all the song titles and artist(s), because Im lazy like that.
So APPARENTLY British pop singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor has finally tied the knot with the dude that knocked her up with the kid she had last year or so. She managed to do it away from prying eyes so there are no paparazzi photos (or so they say), but the press found out anyway. I got a crapload of yahoo news alerts about it today. I mean, we all knew she was going to marry the dude, but now its official. Now I cant marry her. And YOU cant marry her, and your FRIEND cant marry her, so FORGET IT.
I really appreciate those of you whove helped me with the lyrics thing. Dentarthurdent is my hero for deciphering that one impossible-to-understand line in Always Too Late. Im sure hes got it right. L7rules is also rad, I wouldnt have had that one line in No Easy Love right without his help.
If you havent looked at the lyrics site lately, it has now been snazzed up with a couple pics, and a nicer font (Times New Roman is UGLY). I do the annoying fixed background thing so that the image stays in place while the text scrolls over it. I know Ive found that irritating in the past but I did it anyway. For SHAME
Oh and I know the pic of whats-her-name is kind of tiny for those of you on bigger resolutions. Im on 1024x768 and its pretty small. But I want to be nice to those weirdos who for whatever reason are still using 640x480 resolution. Even then, with Firefox at least, the top of her head gets a little cut off.
The main page has meta tags to be indexed by search engines. When Im not feeling so lazy Ill add the tags to the individual lyrics pages.
I mentioned it on the official forum, hopefully people wont be weird or mean about it. Maybe they can help me too.
BUT Im not sure how much more help Ill need as Im making a lot of progress with this new program I downloaded: Audacity. I can select different parts of the song and make a clip of it, then slow the tempo to whatever I want without changing the pitch (which, as I said, would creep me out, though I accidentally dropped the pitch the first time but I didnt freak out too much).
I made a bunch of mp3s of the slowed clips, in case people contest my interpretations or just want to confirm it themselves. Ill probably upload those eventually, at least the ones that I still dont understand.

Good lord, 1024x768? Isn't it illegal for geeks to have resolutions that low?

Possibly need a new driver. Also, it could be a monitor issue. Some monitors (older ones) might not be able to support higher than 1024x768, and the video card might not let you do it.
