Oh fuck no. I had written an immense entry and I clicked a link and now it's gone forever. Fuck fuck fuck. Oh and it was beautiful too. I have a magic memory for remembering entries as I write them but that was just too darn long to remember every last thing. Shit.

Okay having rewritten the bulk of it I'm finding that my magic memory is still pretty good even for long things. Most of it is exactly as I wrote it but there are pieces missing and slight differences. Overall, it's pretty true to the original. God bless my magic memory.

New profile pic is a crappy photoshop of the album from which I get my new screen name (Foxbase Alpha). The expanse of whitespace is alarming but I may add the black and green pictures of the band members from the Good Humor album to the left if I can figure it out and if the result looks good. edit: the result is pretty okay but there's still whitespace, this time to the right. I think Sarah and Bob and Pete would be sad edit again: okay I did what I was hoping to avoid: enlarge the right side of the pic. You see less of Celina's skirt but at least the offensive whitespace is dealt with. Plus my name is bigger. Hey ho.

My friend from the UK who got me into Saint Etienne in the first place (the band who does the album in my picture) has taken it upon himself to bring all Saint Etienne Wikipedia pages up to date. He is a huge fan. He has graciously asked for my input and I couldn't be more honoured*.

* It is only polite to spell it the right way when I am talking to or about English/Australian/other proper-English-speaking friends.

My main contribution seems to be reworking some of his sentences to make them more grammatically pleasing. This is something I heartily enjoy because it makes me feel smarter than I really am. I've done the same for mom plenty of times before. Unfortunately my brain doesn't house enough knowledge yet to be able to contribute actual facts about the band, but reworking sentences gets me excited enough. And when I say "excited enough" I really mean "extremely excited".

I am most excited that he is embarking upon a journey to create a page for lead singer Sarah Cracknell from scratch. I adore the woman and will be overjoyed when she has a page she can call her own. I particularly look forward to the new and dazzling facts he has promised to reveal.

Our fear is that some of the precious information he plans to include will be ruthlessly edited out and I'm not sure how that possibility can be coped with or prevented. But given the amount of information he plans to include I feel most of it will remain unchanged.

I was in fact rather overstimulated last night between the Wiki-adventure, my going to NYC to see Annie (the singer), and the fact that I just sent Redbeard3 and another friend a few burnt CDs. I have now interested another friend in my "burnt offerings" (ho ho ho) and as a result of talking to her I have downloaded a CRAPLOAD of Radiohead videos.

I had forgotten my mini-obsession with the Paranoid Android video. I was obsessed not only with the creepy weird video but with the song as well. And now I HAVE the video and can relive the creepy weirdness I remember from my high school days whenever I wish. Despite my fondness for the song I never actually got into Radiohead but I remember OK Computer was HUGE. Mom bought it recently and I actually have it on my computer but I haven't even listened to it all the way through. wtf?

Oh yeah and didn't the artist who drew the video do a children's cartoon series for a while? I remember being weirded out that an artist who drew such adult images would be making a children's show. And if I remember correctly there was some slightly brazen stuff in that show, wobbling crotches and the like.

Anyway I am ever on the lookout for more sources of videos to download. I've tried bittorrent but it appears I have to tweak some settings I know nothing about for it to even work. And the selection of stuff I've seen on a couple big torrent sites was pretty lame actually. I guess it's no good if I'm not interested in movies.

This is where I started talking about the fact that the space left on the partition I put all my video and music files is getting alarmingly low. Then I went into a whole spiel about when my old hard disk crashed and the fact that I found a good piece of software (which I paid $50 for) that recovered EVERYTHING, down to the folder structure and all. If I hadn't lost what I wrote (I guess it was like a hard disk crash in itself) I would have left it as is, but being forced to make a fresh start I will just leave it in this summary form because it was boring, all told.

That is where I left off with the original entry.

I have decided, having watched Kylie Minogue prance around with a gleam of ENVY in mine eye, that I need a good pair of GIGANTIC CARGO PANTS. Yes I do. Honestly I'm tempted to try to copy her whole outfit from the Love At First Sight video. White boybeater, black bra, black thong-ish panties, funky yellow shoes, weird orange armband, black necklacey thing, the whole bit. Throw in pierced ears and an earring with my first initial on it, some plastic surgery, blonde hair-dye, and the ability to not dance like a moron, and VOILA, instant Kylie. I wouldn't go that far, of course. I just want the cargo pants. Must. have. cargo pants.

What I need are some recommendations on where to buy them. The phrase "cargo pants" makes my brain scream "Old Navy" thanks to their brilliant and devious advertisement campaign, but surely there are other sources. Hell, maybe Kylie's cargo pants ARE Old Navy. It's too bad it's going to be a scorcher on Saturday for SGVA's Kings Dominion trip, otherwise I'd buy a pair of cargo pants NOW and show them off then. Oh well. I rarely wear shorts as it is so I'll have plenty of opportunities to wear cargo pants and pretend I'm cute(r).
