So. I feel duty-bound to tell you of my dreams this morning (when you're talking to me you have to get a little used to my timeframe; waking hours for me are from about noon to 6am. And for me to say I wake up at noon is pretty optimistic. Try 6. PM.)
First off, I had not one but two dreams about Al that involved nothing sexual whatsoever. When I say I had two dreams about Al, that's not to say I had one that changed into the other. No. I actually woke up and went back to sleep between them.
And when I say "nothing sexual whatsoever", the reason is thus: I was dreaming about browsing the site. I truly wish I could remember what the dream entailed, but as you'll see with the third dream of the morning, such memories were pushed out of my mind. All I know is I was reading some of her posts. NERRRRRRD.
The reason I dreamt about Al was her last journal entry. Just a personality meme. I was kind of struck by it though. Which, I guess, is why she posted it in the first place. And when I say "kind of" struck by it I actually mean "REALLY" struck by it.
The third dream, which pushed all thoughts of Al firmly from my mind, was a dream about Cthulhu.
I must say now that I have read exactly none of the works of Lovecraft, nor have I seen many things about Cthulhu from other sources. All I know is I read squid shots from behind and an ancient news item about giant cephalopods taking over the Earth in which Cthulhu in-jokes were sort of rampant, and this morning I dreamt about Cthulhu.
Now, Cthulhu actually played only a minor (and probably disappointing) role in the dream. In fact, I feel a little ashamed of the role he (it?) played in my dream. The role he/it played was not befitting the god-like monster with a cult following Wikipedia tells me Cthulhu is. Still, there have been many humorous renderings of Cthulhu over the years, and my subconscious' rendering could be said to be somewhat humorous.
Basically, in the dream, a troupe of "bad guys" were transported to the locales selected for their evil deeds by none other than Cthulhu. To be completely and utterly frank, they were riding around on a green, tentacled half-Cthulhu/half-vehicle... thing. But it WAS Cthulhu. Really. It was one of those dreams where something may not look anything like the thing you're thinking of, but that's what it IS. And really, the resemblance was clear enough.
Sadly, that was it for Cthulhu. He/it only made a very brief appearance. But that appearance was really kind of surprising and I can't help but wonder if my dreams are being influenced by Cthulhu's powers. I already decided yesterday that I'd read the book(s), so perhaps evil is truly at work. (edit: apparently as a creative person I am sensitive to such dreams, and they could be a sign of Cthulhu's impending rise from the watery depths. And apparently I'm going to go insane and die. Nice knowing you
)
The "bad guys" aspect of the dream is worth going into a bit, for hilariousness' sake. I was one of the bad guys (well, bad GIRL) and we all had evil powers. Near the end of the dream I was forced to reveal to the even-more-evil ringleader my hidden power of shooting destructive laser beams from my eyes. HAHAHA. That's right, laser beams. It was one of those situations where the ringleader is SO evil that even his minions fear and secretly try to defy him. I remember my reaction to having to reveal my secret power. I tossed my beautiful, dream-enhanced head of long black hair and a look of mingled terror and defiance came over my gorgeous facial features. And then I shot laser beams from my eyes.
I love dreams, don't you?

I, too, hope BX gets some steam behind it. I thought it was a group that had the potential to have a lot of interest. It's just such a cool idea.
Also, I have 3 bookcases full of stuff I'd never register. Don't you?
Most of my Never To Give Away books came from grad school. One day I might actually need a somewhat comprehensive historical library, so I'd hate to get rid of it after all the effort I went through collecting it. (And, to be fair, only 3 of the 4 shelves on my bookshelves are books. The top shelf is all knick-knackery.)
