Why didn't any of you warn me about the GLAUCOMA TEST!!! AUGH! *runs screaming*
In case you couldn't tell, I had my first ever (i.e. of my life) eye exam this morning. It was weird. The very nice young Asian doctor lady had me sit in a chair in a (kind of) low-lit room. She gave me a little thingy to cover my eye (all while we talked a little about my school, where she used to go some years ago) and had me look at some letters behind me in a mirror. There were three lines, and even the middle one was fuzzy for me.
She made me look at some bright lights (sometimes while looking through lenses and things; I had to try not to let my eyes tear up) to make sure my eyes are healthy. Then she put the lens thingy in front of my face and flipped the lenses, asking which looked clearer, which looked fuzzier.
When she was done she said that my prescription is very mild, but said that I could wear the glasses all day, anyway, because close-up stuff (which doesn't look fuzzy for me) will be sharper. She said I have a slight astigmatism in each eye. I think she said my eyes are oblong along one axis, but not the other?
Something like that. Anyway, she said that whenever I get my glasses made, it'll be weird for a couple of days because of the astigmatism, but she advised me not to give up because I should get used to it after a couple of days. She said most people get glasses when they're young, so it's easier for them to get used to.
And THEN!!!
Oh, man. Having a quick blast of air shot in each eye is NOT NICE. She even had to do my right eye twice for some reason. 
It was bad. I think a dust particle must have scraped my left eye because it was itching after.
But, I survived it, and once I look around for a good deal on frames, I will have a second pair of eyes, and you can all point and laugh at me. It will be a triumphant moment for me, though. I will be coming into my own, as a true nerd. *sniffs, wipes tear, breaks into hysterical sobbing*
Enough of that. I'll try to hurry up getting the frames so you can see pictures of Carolyn 2.0: Nerd Edition.
