So we got our grades for the database project today. My partner and I didn't do as well as I'd hoped. We got 15.5 out of 20. We got 9 out of 10 on the smaller programming project. My professor emailed me, apparently right after he posted the project grades, to tell me that I just need to get 9 points out of 25 on the final to pass the class.
Actually, I didn't realize until just now that that means I need to get 36 out of 100 points. I foolishly thought he meant I needed just 9 points total to pass, but obviously he means 9% out of the 25% that the final is worth. I'm a little worried now.
Now, the first two midterms were out of 60, and I got about 25 points on each one. If the final were out of 60 points (which I don't think it will be), I would just need 21.6 out of 60 points to pass the class. So maybe I can do this. I hope so.
I'm glad I realized this, or I wouldn't have really studied much for the final to get 9 points. Now I have to study to make sure I can get the 36 points. I'll have to do the practice exam on my own and bring it to the professor to go over it. I don't know if he's going over it in class. I've missed the last two classes.
And then in the other class, I am taking that make-up test on Tuesday morning. So I have that to study for, not to mention the two finals (one on the 14th, one on the 19th).
This is a stressful time. I really really really hope I pass these two classes, and I really really really hope I don't have this much trouble next semester, so I'm not walking on a knife edge like this the whole time.
I can do this, really. It's all up to me to do what I need to do. So much pressure. I don't like this. But I have to do it. I've come this far, only four classes away from a degree in computer science.
