IN YO FACE!!

You may or may not remember me babbling about making an extension for Firefox that corrects mispellings of "definitely". I ran into some roadblocks, but today I found a forum about making such extensions, and I found a script that does what I need. I modified it to not only correct misspellings of "definitely", but also:

• Fixes "teh" and "liek"


• Changes interweb/internets/variants thereof to "Internet"


• Spells out lol, rofl, o rly/y rly/ya rly, srsly, ur, u r, idk (I don't know), thru, and tho (I think I'll add iirc; ironically, I can never remember what it stands for )


• Turns the f-word (and the variant ending in "ing"), s-word, c-word, and b-word into ****


• Cleans up wtf and omg/variants


• Reduces multiple exclamation marks and any added 1s, symbols, "eleven", "eleventy", and "one" to just one exclamation mark


• Changes "eleventy" to "eleven"


• Replaces smilies like XD and <.< with "(smiley removed)"

I think that's it.

I just realized I forgot to correct that horrible word "blog". That will be part of a future release (and by future I mean the next twenty minutes).

Maybe I should call my script "I hate the Internet".

P.S. This journal entry is slightly confusing for me to read because my script has replaced most of the offending terms and acronyms. Some of them have slipped through, so I'll have to fix those. It's mostly doing its job, though.
