I should put up a new entry. I feel bad that I had to vent, but I feel better that I did, and I got a lot of good replies from you guys which helped remind me that my friends are the reason I like it here. I was explaining to a few people that I've had a LiveJournal for years before I ever even knew SG existed. I like writing journals, and I always get good comments on mine here.
I want to know what you guys think about soda. Pop. Sodie pop. Fizzy drinks. For a while now I've been drinking lots and lots of caffeine-free Coke. I may have mentioned it before. The grocery store down the street sells cartons of it in cans, which is cool, because I need something caffeine-free and I don't really like root beer or ginger ale or Sprite. I also like how soda tastes in a can.
However, mommy dearest is concerned that it is bad for me. Her explanation is that soda is essentially pure sugar with no nutritional value. That is true. But should I stop drinking it? I like it. In the past I didn't drink enough and at least now I'm more properly hydrated. I could drink water with the same effect and it would be better for me, but I don't really like plain water unless I'm really thirsty. I was drinking juice but I wasn't really liking it.
I was considering switching the soda with chocolate milk, which does have nutritional value in the form of calcium and some vitamins. I bought a bottle of Nesquik chocolate milk at the store the other day and I compared it to a can of soda. The chocolate milk had more calories and some calories from fat (whereas soda has no calories from fat), and only slightly less sugar. But at least those calories come with nutrition. Part of the problem is that soda is more convenient. It comes in nice little cans which is just the right amount. With chocolate milk I'd have to buy cartons, and unless I bought the little pint cartons (which might be more expensive), I'd have to pour glass after glass of it. Soda comes in its own little container.
What do you think? Any ideas?
There is a background song in Animal Crossing that makes me sad. I think it comes on at 8PM (a different background song plays each hour).
The game is still fun. September will be over soon, but before it ends I have to catch an oak silk moth and a blue marlin. I've caught everything else that appears this season. Boy, am I ever sick of walking along the beach looking for huge fish. I keep seeing fish shadows and thinking "hmm, that looks pretty big, maybe it's a blue marlin. Oh, man, another sea bass!!" Sea bass shadows are slightly smaller than blue marlin shadows, so I keep catching them. I did catch a shark today, which was cool. I caught a couple of ocean sunfish today, and they are just crazy. They're huge. My aquarium in the museum is just filled with fish. Hard to believe that I only need 16 more to complete the aquarium. There are 56 kinds of fish in the game. I can't believe I've already found 40 kinds of fish.
Well, I'm getting grumpy again, so I'll stop writing for now.

this is what its from!!!
I know what you mean about convenient sizes, though. One-gallon jugs aren't terribly convenient, but what can you do.
I do, however, get lectured at now and then about the sugar in the beverages I drink. Your mother does have a point... a lot of 'em are coloured sugar water. But they taste oh-so-good!
