I got some lovely gifts!
Cheech sent me three Kinder Surprise Eggs all the way from a European goods store in Portland! Unfortunately the summer heat made them all melty. I was so eager to see what toy I got that I opened one right away and just licked the foil and capsule.
The other two I put in the fridge so they would solidify. It worked! Here are the toys I got:
The one on the right is a snail character from Spongebob Squarepants (which I don't watch). The two on the left are part of a "music" series featuring little musical note-headed guys. Here is the piano in action (sorry it's so dark and grainy; my camera is too dark, and I also had to compress this a lot. It's also super-fast because I chopped out every third frame to compress it further.). The two little thingies that pop up have stickers on them with the musical note guys on them.

I'd seen these before, and always wanted one! Molly is super. He is currently standing guard on the corner of my desk.
For my birthday I asked mom if I could drop her off at work and have the car for the day (I had therapy on Wednesday). Mom agreed, but I had to pick her up at the subway station because she too had therapy. When I picked her up, she was carrying this!
When I asked if she had bought it at the subway station, she said yes and looked a little embarrassed, I guess because subway station flowers have a reputation of being cheap and last minute, but I didn't mind! They're lovely!
I guess that's all the gifts (for now). I know there is a package on the way from The_Works, and jonnytrrrash7 completed his mix CD for me, so that's on the way also.
I wanna DS for my birthday! *sniff sniff* I'm not sure my aunt or grandma remembered my birthday. My aunt and uncle got me my GameCube a couple of birthdays ago, so maybe they'd be willing to get me a DS. 
Maybe I shouldn't push my luck, though.

One of my pet peeves is when the phone rings, I pick it up, say hello, only to be answered by a recorded message. I feel like I've been tricked into saying "hello". Played for a fool. It feels like getting a prank call.

As far as hating it, I don't really. It's just it goes without saying I don't like change for change's sake. Which isn't to say there aren't new features... like people can see when you're logged in. I HATE that. Okay, I just used the word "hate".... it's like this- you already had enough chance to stalk the daylights out of someone by looking at their "Comments" under the old system. Now, my Comments are telegraphed even more with little "this is what he wrote" blurbs, and people are being told when I'm on. I don't like that. Okay, I hate that. I just feel like I ought to be awarded some sense of privacy without going anonymous.
Anyway, why bring all this up in here? Well, I thought you liked the beta; I must have confused you with some other folks.
I simply don't want folks to know I'm on cuz... let's say I don't write to them that minute, that day, whatever. They might think it's cuz I don't give a crap or something, when in reality any number of things might be true. I might not feel happy enough to write to anybody. I might not know what to write at a particular time. I might be attacked by a giant space squid just as I was going to type a perfect bon mot in response. And so on. I don't like people "tracking" my movement in LJ, MySpace, here, or anywhere else. It just feels creepy (I would've written that with periods at the ends, but you said you didn't like that).
I remember the limerick. You said the flash would crash. I dunno, I just remmber some VA/ MD folks liked it (I guess Jayde was one).
You know, if they wanted to add things- the smilies have gotten old. There's still no dog smiley. Or dragon, or Pac Man, and so on....
