Recommend some Donna Summer songs!!
Ugh. Lately I just feel so darn bad that I'm not treating myself with any sort of self-respect. It's a cruddy place to be, as I'm sure some of you are all too aware. I sure wish I was more in an "everything is love" kind of place, but I just ain't, right now.
I'll get better. I'm chipper enough in spite of how icky everything feels right now. Most of the time, anyway. I'd feel better if I felt like I was doing some real, concrete work on improving my situation, though. I'm not really sure what that would entail, aside from therapy, and I'm working on that. Well, and getting a job, but I'm such a mess that I'd be afraid of getting fired within a few days of starting.
I'd just like to be able to say "I did x, y, and z today, and now I feel a bit better." Does it ever work that way?
Man, I could totally go to the museums whenever! I need to get myself out of the house. I think that's probably step one. If I can get myself out of the house every day (something I will probably have to work myself up to slowly) I'd no doubt feel better. I'm sure I would.
I was going to go to the library today, but I just... didn't.
ASDFJKL;
Ah, I do love "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head". That should be, like, my theme song right now.
Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red
Cryin's not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothin's worryin' me
Right?
I bought Peter Gabriel's album So from iTunes yesterday. Mom had the cassette, and I remember listening to it a long time ago and really liking it. So now I have it. Good stuff. Great stuff!
I also bought The Number Ones, a collection of top songs by The Supremes, and some of Diana Ross's solo hits. Cool beans!
AND I bought a Greatest Hits of the Mamas and the Papas!
The first music I really ever got into was oldies.
I listened to the local oldies station religiously in my teens. I'm discovering I still love that stuff.
I listened to 52 Beatles tracks last week.
Craaaaazy. Not long ago I was all "whatever
" about the Beatles, but not anymore, clearly! I LOVE "Honey Pie". Totally.
A smile lights up that stupid face, and, well, it would
I've lost my faith in womanhood...
I have therapy later and I don't want to go.
