Here are all the ones I've made (a few of them haven't been submitted because they're repeats of rejected ones with different text styles; the ones with no captions were either rejected or haven't been accepted yet).
I haven't seen any official word on what exactly are the rules for making these things. Apparently they can be any size, and the file size can be pretty high, too, it seems. They are like banners, only without the size limitation. The point seems to be to feature really enticing photos, to "tease" viewers into wanting more, leading them to join the site. Makes sense.
There is a contest, and the creators of the top 5 submitted teasers (and MySpace contact tables and themes) will win a free year membership to SG, an autographed SG book, and a new SG hoodie.
I'm not really skilled with Photoshop or anything, but I can crop photos fairly effectively, I guess. I've settled on Old English Text MT as my font of choice, and I will sometimes add an outer glow (or two) to that, and sometimes a drop shadow. I will also add a nice, big SG logo in most of them. I don't really deviate from this pattern. As I said last time, fancier effects are beyond me, so I stick with my basic (yet effective) pattern.
I think it would be cool to be picked as one of the top 5 for the contest. Given the sheer volume of my submissions, maybe I'll get lucky with one of them and get picked. Not a lot of other people have submitted teasers, and right now I feel like one of mine will get picked, but the contest ends next month. I'm sure plenty more people will submit things between now and then, probably far superior to mine.
That won't stop me from making them, though.

Oh, and I guess I should say which ones of mine were approved:
So I signed up for an affiliate account, and I'm using my special link on my *sigh* MySpace profile. SG is really pushing MySpace now, sadly. It could very well be they are now officially affiliated in some capacity. They probably are. :-/
I really have a thing against MySpace, for starters because you get so many zillions of errors all the time whilst using it. I also dislike MySpace because I get contacted by a lot of random weirdos. I like that Annie's music profile is on my friends list, but that's one of the few things I like about it. The blog feature doesn't even have a blushing smiley! What gives?
But I've given in, and changed a bunch of things in my MySpace profile to try to attract more visitors, but really only in the hopes that I will earn some money through my affiliate account.
I suppose I could use my special link on my homepage. The rules say the link can't be posted on a site whose target audience is under 18, though. I actually have some drawings of cartoon nudity, but I kind of regret those, honestly. My site should be rated E FOR EVERYONE OH HO HO HO!
Along with this teaser-making addiction has come an obsessively-checking-army-page-to-see-if-my-submissions-have-been-accepted addiction. I asked in the SG Army group if they're going to bring back our protected SG Army pics folders, because I liked being able to see all of my accepted submissions in one place. Our submissions go into albums now, though, so I don't know if they can do that.
Anyway. That's where I'm at now. Check back later for more rollerdisco news and updates!
P.S. I HATE DIAL-UP VERY MUCH
I've been on dial-up exclusively since November, and much before that. That's why I never get crap done.
Oh, and my sympathies about dial-up. It's gotta suck. Of course, my "high speed" connection is suffering of senility, too, so it feels like dial-up. Gotta call up these bastards and tell 'em to restart their routers or something.
