You have to read Girlie and Twwly. Not just now; always. It's uplifting. Speaking of uplifting, Flux heartily recommends the Desiderata, and with good reason. It has given me some peace in this troubled time. Read more about it at good old Wikipedia. (I prefer "cheerful"; what about you?)
Super Metroid Samus
Metroid Fusion Samus
Notice how the Super Metroid Samus is standing unnaturally straight, whereas the Metroid Fusion Samus is leaning forward in a much more natural-looking pose. The Metroid Fusion one is her in her Gravity Fusion Suit (at first I said it was the Varia Suit. Shame shame.). I guess any sequels will have to include the Fusion Suit... she was overdue for a makeover, I guess. Purists are undoubtedly enraged at Samus's transformation, but I think it makes her look pretty snappy. (Portions of the previous sentence may have been exaggerated for effect.)
After finishing a now-aborted 3+ page long journal entry about video games, I decided to pop in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door once again. I bought it months ago; maybe even a year. I played it once, for a little while, then lost interest. I see why. Man, is it ever dull. Sheesh. I was going to say that I've given it all the chance it deserves, but I haven't even left Rogueport yet. Maybe I shouldn't be so quick to dismiss it. Additional deficiencies of this game include some seriously annoying music, and a pretty boring battle system. The whole "everyone is made of paper" schtick doesn't really bother me. Doesn't really thrill me, either.
That said, I wasn't all that into Zelda: Minish Cap when I first got it, for reasons I don't even remember anymore. I came to love that tiny little game. Perhaps I am too quick to judge in matters of video game quality.
I need to find an exciting new game. I just finished my Metroid Fusion walkthrough (which will never see the light of day due to my having mooched off other writers to find all the secrets), and now I just can't play that blasted game anymore. That typically happens after I've written a walkthrough for a game. That is a really sweet game, though. Not "sweet" in the sappy sense, of course. "Sweet" in the awesome sense. I just got the under 4 hours/100% Samus portrait, with her looking lovely out of her Fusion Suit in a blue tank top and shorts, in front of a futuristic city skyline, with her fingers through her ravishing blonde hair. I want to be her when I grow up.
Metroid tribute set!
Any takers?
Well, I am too sleepy to continue writing. I wrote this yesterday, actually, and have been working on this entry since even before that. I have had a very good day/night!
I feel much better than I did this weekend.
Have a good one, and take care of yourselves. Always.
