I feel the weekend quickly slipping away, and I don't know what to do. I miss MollyMolly. I have some gross cold breadsticks from Dominos in front of me and there are a couple Cherry Cokes in the fridge but I don't want them. I don't feel like doing my Norwegian at the moment.
I've been playing Metroid Fusion on my computer all day, working on my walkthrough for it. Lemme tell you, writing a walkthrough for a first person shooter is pretty darn boring. Boss strategies are more interesting to write, but there is a lot of "walk over here, shoot this, jump up here, shoot that". Blegh. I need a new game to write a walkthrough for.
I bought Pikmin. As usual it will probably sit unplayed for months before I get the urge to try it. Video game store clerks are really awful. I think they're rude to me because 1) I'm a girl 2) I look like I don't know what I'm doing there. I haven't been up on the gaming scene so I don't know what's out there.
They guy let me play a couple GBA games on a DS (first time I'd touched a DS) but I felt so uncomfortable there that I didn't feel like playing for long. Originally I had wanted a new GBA game, but nothing was jumping out at me. So I bought Pikmin.
I had a really bad chocolate milkshake yesterday at the new diner down the street. And a veggie burger that they didn't put on a bun; I had to ask them for one. And they put mayo on the burger of the guy behind me. They really need to get their you-know-what together. I mean, yeah, they've only been open for a few weeks, but really, they're a mess and they won't stay in business if they don't shape up.
Samus Aran is cool. In my single-digit days I daydreamed (daydreamt?) of having a Power Suit like hers. I seriously wanted one. Oh and I actually tried to make one, I keep forgetting! For Halloween one year I wanted to be a Power Suited Samusalike. I even... cut the wire off my NES gun to be part of the costume
I made the costume out of neon poster board at the last minute. I had really really wanted a helmet but couldn't improvise in time.
A real Power Suit would be COOL. Think Stormtrooper armor. But better. Heavier. Smooth and sleek. Sexy. I want one. Someone make me one!! I'm 5'2", keep that in mind when you're designing it, okay? Let me know when I can come over to make a mould of my body. Okay??
Aw I wish I had gone through with some of the wacky ideas I had as a child. I never did anything cool to look back on and say "wow I was a cool kid". I lack a natural curiosity about life, I think.
I wonder about my feelings about physical objects and belongings. I look at the two things I'm most passionate about, language and music (and music only selectively). Those are kind of intangible things. Even my fake DJ headphones, which I love, I don't really feel that proud of or excited about. I've mentioned this before. I don't think physical objects hold a lot of meaning for me.
Well writing all this isn't doing anything to cheer me up.
update MollyMolly is back and we're talking! YAY!

The group's name is a modified version of "Husker Du?", which means "Do You Remember?" in Danish and Norwegian, inspired by the name of a board game which was first distributed in the 1950s by Pressman. The game has macrons instead of umlauts ("Hūsker Dū?"). The board game proclaimed itself a game "in which the child can outwit the adult."
The game caused an uproar in 1973 when it was discovered that the phrase "Get It" was flashed subliminally on the television ads promoting the product.
There is a documentary series about the 1970s on Danish TV at the moment called "Husker Du"
"Husker Du" is also the name of a long-running TV show in Norway. The show is about old (musical) hits and has been on air for more than 30 years.
