Soooo... Annie answered my last question to her.
"Pikk og pule" translates to "dick and fuck". My dictionary told me about pikk but I had to find pule here.
Now to figure out when their show actually airs, if it's still running...
(I added something to my "gets me hot"... and gosh, I can't believe I said that
)
Holy moly. Was it really only YESTERDAY that I started the Norwegian lessons??? No way, it must have been Wednesday. Still.
I've got past the pronunciation lesson and am starting to listen to the dialogues. I can say jeg er amerikansk, jeg heter rollerdisco (replace w/real name if you remember it), jeg bor i Washington D.C. (well outside the city), hvordan har du det, hvor kommer du fra, hva heter du... I've learned more than that but I don't remember it all. I think from now on I will sign letters "tusen kysser" which hopefully means "a thousand kisses".
I've already been told by three separate people "jeg elsker deg" which means "I love you".
As for actually saying these things (i.e. out loud) I'm not quite there yet. I realized that I'm probably going to have to find some Norwegian speakers to audio chat with, or something, if I ever want to develop good speaking proficiency. I have no idea how else I can do it, because I'm not sure repeating after CDs is going to cut it if I don't have someone telling me if I'm saying it wrong.
I'm kind of surprised at my enthusiasm for this, and maybe you are too. I mean, I took German for a couple of years in university and was surprised at how quickly I caught on. I really loved it. It's always been a dream of mine to become fluent in at least one other language. So after I stopped studying German (which I regret), I was determined to study something else in the future, whatever language came along that held my interest. And then Annie decided it for me.
I don't know what it is, but learning a language is something I'm really passionate about (and in fact I had kind of forgotten how passionate I was about German). My general lack of passion about most things in life has been worrying me lately, so this is a huge boost for me. I feel full of life and energy. I was actually enjoying work yesterday. And I feel so happy overall.
I just had a dream with Annie in it. I was at an Annie concert, taking place in a huge stadium with a ton of people (she's only ever played large venues for big festivals and such, in real life). She asked the audience to snap to the beat instead of clap so I started snapping and so did everyone else and I was so amazed that she was able to get the audience to do that all together that I closed my eyes in a state of bliss (nerd!)
Then later on I was in a shopping mall (I swear I have a zillion dreams taking place in shopping malls) with Annie and some friends (not real people) and I know we went into some music store (repeatedly) looking for the latest Annie single but couldn't find it. At one point the music playing overhead was so awful that we had to leave (we practically went running out of the store).
I know there was some weird part where there were large aquatic tanks in the mall (and I've dreamt about aquatic tanks in malls before, in fact) and there was some concern that one of the panes of glass in one of the tanks was going to break. There were some odd creatures in the tanks that looked like these big, fat, seahorse-shaped enemies from Metroid Fusion (which I was playing last night). I don't remember much more of that.
There was a later part where we were outside (it was nice and sunny and warm) and I started telling Annie in quite a cheesy way how amazing I thought it was that she had this power to bring people together (i.e. getting them to all snap together at her concert). It was really goofy in the dream (and I said so in the dream, but Annie just smiled) and that's a part I was in control of because I was aware of what I was saying; I was saying it as though I were awake. When I'm awake I often think of things to say to Annie in case I get a chance to talk to her again, and this was just like that.
Soon after that we were looking for the car to leave the mall. I believe my uncle had brought us there. The car he had driven was this brown sports car type of thing like maybe a Ferrari or something (he has a black Pontiac Firebird in real life, I think. But he doesn't keep it up too well. Kind of a piece of junk at this point.) Anyway we saw the car, and then I guess something distracted us, because it wasn't there anymore and we had to go elsewhere to find it. I think we thought it had been stolen.
I remember a part where we were exiting the mall to the parking lot (which was pretty small) and I was explaining to Annie and friends that it was the only parking lot for the whole entire mall (which was pretty big). I'm not sure how I knew this, but I was certain of it in the dream.
I guess that's pretty much all I can remember.
