Wahoo! More time to update. There's been so much rain here the last month or so, it's beginning to feel like the east coast...just awesome. The masses of street performers and transients are making their way into town, as well as the tourists. Street performers, transients...cool. Tourists, not so much.

I was hoping to take a class or two this summer in order to knock...

Dude..one more goddam final, and it's over! It's so nice having time for personal reading again, and energy to play music. It's nice being back in school and all, but I'm going to enjoy the hell out of this summer thing.

jonnyjonnyh:
Ryan!

As an expression of my love for you, I give thee a one of a kind present. This is my one-thousandth post. The big #1000.
Threads have been made for this shit, countless times, and you, you get it as a journal comment. I love you Ry!
You the man.
Amy and I think it's bad ass that you also have aspirations for Hawaii, maybe we can make a chill school together and raise island hippie kids. smile

I shoulda seen it coming after the chain reaction of randomly falling objects occured right when I walked in the door. An hour later, it was clear that our restaurant had become a closed system for the day. I've never seen so many things go wrong in one day, becoming progressivly worse at each event. Bloody hell...it shouldn't be possible! My mood is currently crap,...

how'd your paper turn out?

For me, anger immediatly translates into pain (unless the situation requires otherwise). So I'd have to go with : weeping. Works like a charm.

Head full of whiskey and wine, and a strong desire to explode. I can't, though. Too resigned to muster the force...at least for a day or so. My music and other people's music are kinda holding me up tonight, while holding down the bile and bitterness. At the same time, I'm incredibly content. Think I'm wired all wrong. robot

This week has been rad as fuck. It was my first real vacation in three years (from work, anyway), and I got to spend it immersed in pure intelligence. The conference on world affairs on the CU campus every year is the coolest free thing to do anywhere. Nowhere else will you find such a huge, eclectic gathering of intellect and creativity.

Aside from that, this...

Wow...finally able to catch my breath in the middle of the semester. This schedule was killing the fuck out of me, but I think I'm finally adapting. Just in time to nearly double the number of credits I'm taking so I'm not in school for the rest of my life. The amounts of abuse the mind and body can endure never cease to amaze. Taking...

sorry I took so long to get back - school continues to steal me life away. I'm a biology major, also in for the long haul to the land of the PhD. Im still at a community college, but I got big plans, man! Anthro is cool, although sometimes I think people are my least favorite of life forms...

I actually just got back from a lecture given by Jane Goodall (amazing!) and she was talking about how her research was used to hypothesize about early human behavior and such. Apparently chimpanzees exhibit a lot of the same non verbal communications (patting on the back, kissing, shaking fist in anger, tickling for pleasure) that humans do, and they are used to convey the same meaning. I didnt know any of this, and I found it fascinating.

Anyway, Im kinda rambling and I dont even know if thats considered anthro. Have a good night!

I've settled into a nice routine now. The schedule isn't bothering me at all anymore. The thing that is bothering me, is the stink of extreme relativism that I come home with every day from classes. I haven't been in a classroom in five years....has it always been like this? People, the younger students, as well as some professors, seem to have given common sense...

Wow...the last two weeks have been fucking savage. Being back in school for the first time in a few years is awesome as fuck, but that and full-time work is kicking the ass. On the up-side, I'll have two entire days off from everything in mid-March! surreal
Well worth it, though. Just took a little time to figure out what the hell I'm going to do...

I really should be in bed now. There's a goddam flock of geese somewhere nearby, making some serious noise. Why are geese here in january?

Alas, I don't think I'm going to be able to finish Cryptonomicon before classes start. Not a big deal..looks like the reading load's gonna be pretty light this semester, so I should be able to pick it off at my leisure....

School and work full-time. The last time I did that,I crashed and burned; and without much grace,at that. At least I'm not working the graveyard this time; I suspect that's what killed me before. I've got to finish all of my personal reading before classes start Tuesday. I've been scrambling like hell. Here's what I knocked down in the last three and a half weeks:...
