I've been riding an emotional roller-coaster. I don't know what this is, I don't know why it's setting in, but I know I'll be fine. Normal things I can fend off-personal insecurities that I can normally laugh off and roll my eyes to I can now feel just irk me below my skin. I feel fat. I feel ugly. I feel overwhelmed and underwhelmed all...

I've been thinking of buying my own place. I don't want to get more than what I can afford, but the idea of buying rather than renting seems scary. I can't move out on a whim like I would when my lease goes up. I have to maintain a bit more than I would in an apartment. I also have to think of stupid things...

Why not put it in a high yield savings account? Let a bank pay you to do nothing. I've known a lot of people who own houses and they're all miserable. And that's even if everything works out as planned. When the hell has that ever happened to you?

"The more you have, the more you have that can be taken away. Everyone will know this and hold it above your head until you finally give up and give it to them." beppo 2011 biggrin

I actually have been talking to an investor-someone I know from someone and who is trustworthy (so I'm not walking into a mess like Bernie Madoff.) Anywho, I do feel like a lot of my money should go to that, yes. I still pay a lot in rent right now. Much more than paying a house payment. I should also consider finding a cheaper place to rent as well, but between Prov's collection of his billions of books and all my art/music and other crap, we need a big place to stay. It's a hard choice to make, and I do have time on my hands to think about it, but I know renting is hurting now. Sad how the tables have turned this way. But I'll think it over some more while looking for my choices.

Finally I find myself out of debt. No longer sinking and finally have enough to live on instead of get by. I thought it would be a bit more liberating, but what's next?

good for you!
i'm trying to get out of debt but i can't stop spending.
got my eye on a couple of bottle of absinthe at the moment.

I'm drawing again. Intricate details that I somehow enjoy, even with a mild essential tremor. It's my bubbles again, but I love the details and patterns in nature and I had to find something to entice me back. Down with the crochet hooks and knitting needles for now.
I lost 10 pounds too! It helped with food poisoning (stupid Panera) but I'm trying to...

I almost forgot how to write a new blog. It's been so long.

Every week day is the same cycle. Weekends are busier with the warmer weather. My bank account gets smaller.

I am healthy with a brief moment of sickness. One that for only a few seconds by a nurse's misinformation, I actually thought I was going to die. I, of course, told my...

Walmart

This is amazing.

Normally I don't get too political on blogs. This is just amazing enough to post.

Walmart doesn't want to lose workers and is concerned about job loss? Really? If they were, perhaps they wouldn't use tactics by driving out local businesses (mega job loss and economic loss), using completely unfair labor practices and ruining small town dynamics. So Walmart has a...

I'm in Glenview now...it's pretty neat. Prov's sitting here organizing his many boxes of books, yarn, stuff. The other day we walked in the snow to get some eats and some drinks and now I think I have the flu, or at least something that makes my throat hurt and my body ache. Hopefully it won't be the flu and some weird bug that will...

Moving date is Good Friday. Next week into a new place. I've only had one true experience living with another person other than a family member. College dorms do not count. I still had my own place to share besides a bathroom. My experiences with my former roommate are mixed. It started out great. We were both living with the same circumstances. We were single,...

Honestly, i really have no true understanding of the depth of your situation and i don't know you at all but i can say this. I wish you luck and hope that despite the adversity you are going through you can find happiness in what you do have. Have a nice day

Ok.
I don't post enough blogs.
Here's one, though.
Sometimes I move. I'm making him a northshore man. Poor guy. He's a toughie, though. He'll get used to the icky suburbanites and bad winters and shitty ass SUV drivers. I'm still not used to it.
Glenview, IL.

p.s. NOLA was fun. It'll be better as just a vacation spot from now on.

I was going through books while you were on the phone.
I'm thinking of giving my books 50 Hikes and Day Trips from New Orleans to Stef.
The Frommer's guide to New Orleans I may keep, just for kicks. smile

I'm so glad you had a great time!
I know I did. biggrin

Ok Ok Ok,

I know it's been a while (thanks Arg.) Sometimes when you don't have anything to say, you shouldn't say anything at all.
Truth is, I had plenty to say, just only in ways to myself. I was at a standstill in my life for a while. Searched, self discovery, while realizing I wasn't completely happy in the situation I was in and...

NOLA isn't going anywhere for at least 50 years.
Then it's going to be called New Venice or maybe Water World.
