Okay, first post on here. I tend to ramble on, I apologize in advance.
* Two of my friends and I are seriously talking about a cross country train trip next summer. AmTrak has a pretty good deal that for $599 you get a pass for 30 days and you can ride as much as you want. Honestly, it sounds so amazing, but I am also a bit nervous about the whole thing. I've never been away from where ever I happen to be calling home for nearly that long. And I also hate to say it, but I haven't been without the boy for that long since we got together. I think when it comes down to it, I think I'll be able to suck it up. That's what cell phones are for. I just don't want to be the girl on the phone with her guy the entire trip. I hate those girls.
*Anyways, we have pretty much mapped out the trip, but we still are deciding where we want to spend time and where will just be passing through kind of places.
*So for the trip goes as follows: San Francisco-Portland-Seattle- Minneapolis-Chicago-Cleveland-Washington, DC-Baltimore-Providence-NYC-Atlanta-New Orleans-San Antonio-Austin-St. Louis-Kansas City-Albuquerque-Los Angeles-San Diego.
*Any suggestions for fun stuff to do in each city? So far I think we are hitting up the Shanghai Tunnel Tour, the velvet painting museum and Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland, Archie McPhees and a friends parents house in Seattle, the downtown skyway area of Minneapolis, the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, and the City Museum in St. Louis, which by the way looks way awesome. So any thoughts? We love weird, off the beaten path kinda stuff, that is relatively inexpensive.
*Okay, told you I ramble. If you stuck around this long, leave me comment. A suggestion for fun stuff to do or tell me I'm crazy for thinking this is a good idea.
